The City Lord narrowed his eyes upon hearing his subordinate’s report. He always felt that something was off but couldn’t pinpoint exactly what.
Xiao Xun excitedly waved his hand. He could finally avenge Xiao Shuo.
Footsteps sounded from outside, and both the City Lord and Xiao Xun looked up, only to see Wan Heng leading Song Yan Ning and her party inside. Anger and unwillingness were written all over the faces of Song Yan Ning and her group.
"You’ve finally fallen into my hands," Xiao Xun stepped forward, sneering as he looked at Song Yan Ning and her companions. He had already thought of ways to torment them.
"Hmph!" Yun Mo let out a cold snort and turned his head. If they hadn’t been willing, not even the entire population of Yunlan City could have captured them.
Xiao Xun sneered, "Let’s see how tough you can stay." He could hardly wait to hear their beautiful screams of agony.
"Wan Heng, you’ve done well this time!" The City Lord looked at Wan Heng with eyes full of satisfaction. Seeing the expressions of Song Yan Ning and her group, he realized he had been overthinking.
It wasn’t a big deal that Song Yan Ning and her group had killed his son, escaped Yunlan City, or survived the Wanshou Forest. Xiao Shuo wasn’t very powerful, being only at the Nascent Soul Stage, so it wasn’t difficult for them to kill him. Zhou Heng scoffed, his hand driving the Dagger down forcefully.
"Ah!" The City Lord cried out in agony, his eyes filled with terror as he looked at Zhou Heng. He knew Zhou Heng was not joking; he was truly intent on killing him.
"Do you think I wouldn’t dare?" Zhou Heng laughed out loud, his face twisted menacingly as he looked at the City Lord, "You never thought you would have this day, did you?"
"Spare me... I’ll agree to any condition... I’ll give you back the map..." The City Lord pleaded with Zhou Heng. He didn’t want to die; he still had a bright future ahead.
