Cayden barely contained himself. The sensation was ten times better then when he kissed her, so soft, so affectionate but their time was over. Ariana pulled her lips away and opened her eyes. She blushed when she saw that Cayden was watching her. "Good morning." She said shyly and his heart exploded. Her morning face was so beautiful, even though her hair was in a braid the hair around her face was slightly tossed and soft looking. Her fair skin glowed as her cheeks blushed with a touch of pink. Her sparkling eyes looked at him with so much affection with the accompany of the first morning. It was unbearable. He pulled her back and closed his eyes.
Ariana was confused, one second she was greeting Cayden the next he was pushing her away. She tilted her head and very softly called out his name. He brought up his face, he looked like he was in absolute pain. "Cayden?" She called out with concern as she slowly stretched out her hand to touch his face. Cayden caught her hand mid air and held it at bay. "Sorry... we... I need to take you back to your dorm." He said with a hallow voice that it shocked her. "Okay..." She mumbled.
Lorelei brought down the barrier and floated into Ariana’s arms. She peaked up at Cayden then looked at Ariana. She wanted to say something but decided not too. "Thank you Lorelei, please have a good rest." Ariana said as she stroked her head. Lorelei looked at Cayden one last time then turned back into a purple stud earring. "Let’s go." He muttered as he started to walk away. Ariana quickly stepped beside him and they silently walked back.
Ariana lifted her gaze and saw that they were probably a block a way from the female dorms. She played with the loose fabric on her dress as they continued to walk. "Cayden?" She called out as she blushed. "Mmmmh." He replied, keeping his poker face in place. "About last night..." She started to say. She let go of her dress and wrapped her arms around Cayden’s waist. "I... I wanted to know if... if it meant... you know, ummm... if we are now together?" She said with hopeful eyes.
Cayden gently removed Ariana’s hands and straightened out his clothes with a swift motion of her hands. "I told you last night I was disinfecting you." He replied coolly. Ariana’s face paled as her heart shattered into a million pieces. "S-s-s-so you’re saying you could do that too anyone in the name of disinfection?" She stuttered as her legs started to feel weak. Cayden swallowed back saliva but his mouth and throat were horribly dry. He balled his hand and started digging his nails into his hands. "Yes." He said bluntly.
"Oh..." Ariana said as her voice trailed off. Ariana wrapped her arms around her waist and hugged herself tightly. "So it didn’t mean anything more to you?" She asked as her voice started to crack. "Already forgot what happened." He said nonchalantly. "Right... so is that why you didn’t ask who tried to rape me?" Cayden’s eyes widened with fear, his face paled and his heartbeat skyrocketed but Ariana kept her gaze averted. She couldn’t look at him, he had already rejected her but she needed to know the truth.
"I guess it didn’t matter right? You can be any person’s knight in shining armour, swoop in and rescue the damsel... right?! No wonder you have so many admirers! Does that mean you have many lovers too?" She asked as her face started to darken. "Do they all bend over backwards in order to repay you for your kind-?!"
She was instantly interrupted. Cayden grabbed her waisted and pulled her against his body. He then grabbed her chin and forced her to look at his face. Ariana’s eyes started to water, her heart broke to see him so desperate and sad. "I can’t be with you!" He shouted breathlessly as he looked at her face. "I need to find you a husband so you can be happy!" Ariana tried to break free but he held her firmly in place. "Let go!" She started to yell in fit of rage. "No you don’t understand!" He shouted desperately. "I don’t understand?! Of course I don’t understand! I don’t need you to find me a husband! I don’t need you to predetermine my happiness! I can be perfectly happy with you! Why can’t we try? Why can’t you let me do what I want?! Cayden I lo-?!"
Cayden swooped down and sealed her lips with his own. Tears started to spill over her cheeks, she closed her eyes and kissed Cayden back. She brought her arms around his neck and slipped her hands to the back of his head. He continued to kiss her more passionately as the seconds ticked by. He pushed his tongue through her lips and tasted ever inch of it As if it was the most delicious thing he ever had. A small moan escaped Cayden’s lips as they continued to kiss.
He opened his eyes and pushed Ariana away. He covered his mouth with his hand and looked at her with shock. "Why? Why did you kiss me again? Why are you playing with my heart?! Cayden, I don’t know what you want from me... You’re too confusing! This isn’t fair Cayden! Do you have any idea how you are looking at me right now? I don’t know what to do anymore.... why can’t we just be together..." Ariana shouted as her cheeks flushed and she hugged herself again.
Cayden brought his hand back down and tried to put a col, indifferent look on his face but failed. He was completely exposed, he dropped his gaze as his face darkened. "Ariana, I have a finacee... this is not right... what we are doing is not right to her or to you. I’m sorry." Ariana started to laugh darkly. "So that’s why I can’t find happiness with you? I can never be your wife, that spot is and only will be for Vanessa right?! While I can be just some mistress... fine! Find me a husband then but he has to have status, power and wealth! I won’t take anything less then that!" She shouted as she released herself and took a few steps back from Cayden.
