Upon hearing Claudia’s words, the young man seemed to want to say something more.
But after seeing the look in the eyes of the girl before him, he eventually chose to give up and then turned and left the gravel path, his figure dispirited.
Watching the guy leave, until his form completely vanished from view,
Claudia then turned around, putting back the gentle expression Ronald had seen earlier.
Noticing Ronald’s unchanged demeanor, the girl shook her head regretfully and then began speaking:
"In fact, just a week ago."
"Somebody told me that something interesting would happen here today, and it might even relate to my lifelong companion, which is why I chose to rest here during dinner time."
"It’s just a shame that from what I can see, it’s a bit disappointing."
Understanding the situation, Ronald agreed and nodded:
"That is somewhat understandable."
"A young man in pursuit of a girl he admires will go to any lengths, which seems quite reasonable."
Hearing Ronald’s remarks, Claudia fell silent for a few seconds before suddenly bursting into laughter:
"Even though you’re younger than me, you talk like you’re an adult!"
Just like that, she made no effort to hide her joy.
A few seconds later, Claudia managed to contain her laughter.
Stopping her own smile, the girl looked at Ronald again, her gaze becoming serious:
"Would you mind telling me your name?"
