Mystic Overlord: Reading Gives Strength Chapter 251

Ronald didn’t know Claudia’s dietary habits.

But that didn’t hinder him from finding a local breakfast that seemed decent enough.

Not far from his place, Ronald spotted his target.

In the riverside area, not yet fully brightened by daylight, breakfast vendors had already appeared, mostly pushing their carts along the roadside to sell food.

People seemed surprisingly uniform in this respect.

After a quick round, Ronald bought two "stuffed breads."

How to describe it...

Though called stuffed bread, it was actually a kind of food with various vegetables or meats sandwiched between two slices of bread, akin to a variant of hot dogs or sandwiches.

The biggest difference was the presence of a crispy cracker inside.

Similar to the crispy thin layer in a jianbing.

As for the final choice, Ronald bought a fruit stuffed bread and a fish stuffed bread.

Claudia, a girl like her, would probably prefer the fruit one.

Thus, carrying two paper bags containing the stuffed breads, Ronald headed back to his place.

By the time he reached the apartment entrance, the street lamps had already been turned off.

At this hour, he could occasionally see pedestrians on the streets, as the city of Springs slowly awakened in the early morning.

Especially here in the riverside area,

Just as Raphael had described before, due to its excellent surroundings, quite a few young students could be seen around.

With a fairly good mood, Ronald returned to the apartment.

He opened the main gate, entered the courtyard, and then ascended the stairs.

But just as he reached the third floor where his room was located, he noticed some changes in front of him—when he had left, he had surely locked the door, but now...

The door to his third-floor apartment was already open, even showing a noticeable gap.

Faced with this change, Ronald raised an eyebrow.

What’s going on here?

Had Claudia finished her shower and returned home without him?

Given Claudia’s demonstrated capabilities and habits, it didn’t seem like her to forget to close the door properly.

So, had someone followed last night’s traces,

And found their way to his home?

Considering last night’s events and Claudia’s identity, this scenario was quite plausible.

Putting himself on alert, Ronald lightly snapped his fingers with his gloved right hand.

Confirming that his defensive spell was activated, he then sidled up to peek through the gap into the room.

And then, a somewhat exasperating scene unfolded before him.

Clearly, during the time he’d gone out to buy breakfast, Claudia had completed her bathing process and seemingly used magic to dry and press her clothes as well.

Now neatly dressed in her school uniform, the girl was sitting on the couch in the room, arms crossed, having reverted to her original appearance, casually watching a cup of hot tea in front of her.

If it was just this scene, Ronald would have had no issues.

But annoyingly, there was something else in the room that he couldn’t ignore.

—The landlady lying on the couch.

Effortlessly, Ronald pieced everything together in his mind.

Early in the morning in the apartment, Cynthia had woken up in her bedroom.

Probably due to some necessary notifications regarding the house rental, she came in looking for Ronald.

Next naturally, Cynthia heard Claudia’s showering noises in the washroom.

And quite naturally proceeded to inquire.

Do we still need to explain?

Classic misunderstanding scenario!

After the tense battle last night, Claudia was startled while taking a bath, and her first choice was naturally to strike immediately.

Then this poor landlady could only be swiftly knocked out in the room.

The mystical Caster faced an ordinary person, crushing her with overpowering advantage.

Ronald couldn’t help but sigh, then reluctantly pushed open the door and entered the room.

Sitting on the sofa, Claudia noticed the sound coming from the room door and immediately turned her head to look.

When she saw that the person coming in was Ronald.

Claudia leisurely raised her teacup, drank the tea, then simply stood up from the sofa and walked straight towards the door to Ronald:

"I seem to have caused you some trouble."

Meanwhile, Ronald entered the living room and spoke:

"For a tenant like me, this is quite troublesome."

"What kind of tenant knocks out their landlord on the second day of renting a room?"

Hearing Ronald’s bitter tone, Claudia’s face immediately showed a smile:

"Actually, it’s not entirely my fault."

"This person was about to barge in while I was bathing, so I had no choice but to knock her out, especially since my presence here isn’t something that can be easily disclosed."

While speaking, Claudia had already reached Ronald’s side.

With a radiant smile, she naturally and fluidly took a paper bag from his hand, then continued walking towards the exit without stopping.

"It’s getting late, I’ll be leaving now."

"I’ll leave the rest to you!"

Watching Claudia walk out of the room, Ronald wanted to say something.

But after thinking about it, there really wasn’t much he could do.

So, he could only watch as Claudia walked down the stairs.

As Claudia descended two floors, she didn’t forget to look back at Ronald upstairs and thank him with a gentle tone once more:

"Ronald, thank you for the breakfast!"

"Hope to see you again sometime."

Following that, the sound of Claudia opening the paper bag echoed.

Ronald, with his excellent hearing, faintly heard the sound of her opening the paper bag and even caught the words "delicious" before she completely left the building.

Claudia was just as hungry as he was.

While accepting the harsh reality, Ronald finally picked up his own paper bag and took out the bread.

However, the next second, his movement stalled.

"Why is it fruit-filled?"

Staring blankly at the fruit cream bread in his hand.

Ronald couldn’t help but reflect on whether his luck was really on a downward spiral today?

After pondering for a few seconds, Ronald sat on the sofa with a grimace.

Then he bit fiercely into the bread.

Right in front of him, the unconscious landlady lay on the sofa with her eyes tightly closed, like a boss waiting to be awakened at the end of a game.

After waking her up, what kind of excuse could he possibly use?

To handle the trouble that was sure to follow?
