Mystic Overlord: Reading Gives Strength Chapter 350

This was Ronald’s first attempt to extract an original text from an enemy’s body.

Like Heloise had said, the process was not something that could be handled in a short amount of time, both in terms of technical difficulty and time consumption.

Even though Ronald was very proficient in "Divine Comedy."

However, causing a stable and harmless change within the complex magic circulation inside Lumir’s body was still quite challenging.

—But it was necessary.

After all, he was different from the old man at the "Nine Commandments" secret meeting.

Ronald needed to ensure Lumir’s safety.

At least after extracting the original text, he still had many questions to ask this guy.

Inside the apartment at night.

Ronald patiently wrestled with the girl in the bedroom, while Heloise silently sat in the living room, not only watching over the house but also taking a moment to brew herself a cup of tea with one hand.

When Ronald clearly sensed that the time was five o’clock six minutes.

His work that night was rewarded with success.

The magic power originally running perfectly in Lumir’s body, under his relentless intervention, deviated entirely from its trajectory, while also not harming Lumir herself.

—It was at this moment.

—A faint red-black liquid seeped out from in front of Lumir’s chest.

Finally, in front of Ronald.

This liquid gradually converged, and then formed an object resembling a book.

Muttering softly, Ronald reached out and grabbed the original text.

The last part of the three-part "Divine Comedy" separated from Lumir and then fell into Ronald’s hands.

After almost half a year.

This original text, first encountered in Black Mountain, had finally come completely into his possession.

Quietly gazing at this original text.

A sudden urge to open and read it surfaced in Ronald’s heart.

But after hesitating for a long time, he shook his head, then secured the text in the safest place closest to his body:

"Forget it, let’s wait until we’ve sent the person away..."

After all, there was a Lumir laying in front of him.

Outside, Heloise was waiting for him.

If any major disturbance occurred now, it would be difficult to explain for both him and his companion.

And Ronald also had a vague premonition that the fully merged "Divine Comedy" might cause some trouble.

He had no intention of flaunting the original text around.

So dragging the still unconscious Lumir, Ronald returned to his living room.

Hearing the stir from the bedroom, the tea-sipping Heloise slightly tilted her head.

Just from one look, she immediately picked up on something from Ronald’s expression.

"Yo, did you manage it?"

Ronald responded with a complex and bitter smile:

"I do feel a sense of ’glad it’s all over’."

"If this experience, long and foul, were to appear in dramas or similar works, I fear no audience would want to watch."

While responding to Heloise, Ronald also came over to the couch and set down Lumir.

Gazing at this ’human girl’ with no reaction, Ronald spoke:

"Thor, does that ’truth serum’ potion of yours only work on humans?"

Heloise immediately nodded in affirmation:

"That’s right, don’t expect it to work on non-humans."

"The sensation for non-human creatures drinking this stuff would be like a human gulping down a mouthful of muddy, dirty water while lying in a mud pond. Just like the investigator’s lie detector, it’s designed for humans."

"Then it’s up to us now."

Having received an answer from Heloise, Ronald expressed a bit of regret.

Without a useful magic potion, they could only slowly draw the information out.

Thus, by locking the power of "Fury" from Divine Comedy - Hell, while monitoring the changes in personnel on the surrounding streets, Ronald had finally lifted the comatose state from Lumír.

At the first moment after the spell effect was lifted, Lumír’s eyelids twitched slightly.

However, soon, that slight movement disappeared again.

She appeared to be sleeping.

Staring at her, Ronald spoke in a cold tone:

"Don’t pretend, you know I can sense changes in people’s emotions."

"There’s no need to waste time on this matter."

Hearing Ronald’s words, Lumír only hesitated for a few seconds before opening her eyes.

Bowing her head slightly, she leaned on the couch and asked in a weak voice:

"I can’t feel my original text anymore."

"Did you extract it from my body?"

"You can’t expect me to leave it inside your body for a second time, can you?"

Hearing Ronald’s response, Lumír fell silent.

This time, not only were the people from the Nine Commandments defeated unlike the previous mishap, but even the original text inside her body had been extracted.

Under such circumstances.

There was virtually no possibility of turning the tables.

As if resigning to her fate, Lumír sighed:

"Just ask whatever you want, I’ll answer truthfully."

To extract accurate information, diving straight into the main topic wasn’t advisable at the beginning.

Therefore, Ronald asked a question that somewhat concerned him but did not delve into the core of the events:

"Back in Black Mountain, Thomson... the merchant who went with us to rescue you, how did he die?"

Probably to demonstrate her willingness to cooperate.

Lumír answered immediately without thinking:

"He was disobedient and was caught by my dear ’mother.’"

"I can assure you that Thomson’s death wasn’t my fault."

Ronald accepted this answer, then steered the questioning back to the core of this interrogation:

"Now let’s talk about your actual origins."

"Starting from the very beginning."

Faced with this question, Lumír thought seriously for a few seconds, then began to explain:

"If you want to know everything about me and my family, you have to start with the Black Mountain Laboratory inside Black Mountain."

Black Mountain Laboratory?

Hearing this subtly poignant term, Ronald coughed uncontrollably:

"Cough, cough, cough!"

Although he knew this wasn’t the Black Mountain of his childhood memories.

Yet suddenly hearing something that weighed heavy on his younger days.

He couldn’t help but get distracted.

Waiting until both Heilóis and Lumír looked puzzled, Ronald stiffly waved his hand:

"It’s nothing, continue."

Heilóis knew it wasn’t the right moment to ask questions.

And Lumír, as a prisoner, didn’t dare to question the embarrassed Ronald either.

So, after slightly organizing her thoughts which had been interrupted,

Lumír then continued seriously:

"Black Mountain is located at the border region of Grid, and its position is also perfectly close to Berengwich and Yizi Forest. So, about five years ago, the Nine Commandments constructed a secret base there for researching the original texts..."
