He scanned the underground space back and forth. The mermaid lady immediately understood everything that had happened before.
"Does this thing have such strong defensive power?"
"Its defense only appeared after staunchly withstanding your first wave of attack, and it didn’t make any other moves after launching a counterattack," Ronald immediately informed Nade of what had occurred.
This strange plant possessed innate defensive and counterattack talents, but from its lack of activity after launching just one attack, it seemed it evidently lacked the ability to think further...

The mermaid lady pulled out a pistol from her waistband and fired three consecutive shots at the flowers in the underground space. Though the bewitching flowers had set up a defensive Spell against attacks, they were clearly insufficient against bullets.
One stem, two petals—in total, three bullet wounds appeared on the plant. And because the flower itself was sturdy enough, the bullets tore away a significant portion as they penetrated.
What was truly more shocking was the firearm in Nade’s hands.
A fantastical creature that should clearly belong in a fairy tale suddenly drew a pistol after casting a Spell and opened fire on the enemy. Such an occurrence... Was it not somewhat difficult for one to immediately accept?
As Ronald stood there speechless, the plant that was hit by the bullets also reacted instantly, with the soil near its roots exploding violently.

The mermaid lady now wasn’t the Spellcaster who had earlier closed her eyes to sing.
Watching the eerie flower’s counterattack, she promptly slapped her tail to move, evading the attack long before it could reach her.
By the time the whip-like shadow tore through the dust and smashed into where the mermaid had been, all that remained nearby was Ronald with a serious expression, scrutinizing the attack.
What came before him, needless to say, was the rootstock of the flower.

He did not allow the original Spell to uproot the plant completely.
After tearing away several other supporting roots, he then forcefully snapped the one he held in his hand.
The power possessed by the "Astronomy Master" Spell had always been reliable.
Not only were excess attacks deflected with changed directions, but the plant’s root in Ronald’s hand also broke very cleanly. A ’snap’ was heard, and orange-yellow liquid squirted out from the broken end.

Watching the changes before him, Ronald, with a somber look in his eyes, jumped away from his original position, now certain of his deductions.
Meanwhile, Helbeth, who had already jumped away, took everything in.
At first, the mermaid’s gaze was naturally filled with admiration for Ronald’s power. But as she saw the orange-yellow liquid flow across the ground, her eyes swiftly shifted to apprehension.
"Wuling person, don’t touch it!"
After the exchange of words across the air, the rest of the monstrous flower’s roots flared with madness and started to thrash wildly in the vicinity. In an instant, the previously bright underground environment was enveloped in thick dust.
Ronald’s act of breaking its roots seemed to have greatly provoked its self-defense instinct. For a while, there wasn’t a single spot to step on all around.
In such an environment, both Ronald and Helbeth showed off their prowess.
They both understood that the plant before them couldn’t be taken lightly.
One was flying in the air, dodging constantly with ease; the other was casting Spells, raising a pale blue bubble around her, slickly deflecting the force of any attack that hit her face.
The two of them persisted for over a minute until the plant’s frenzied retaliation finally came to a halt, and the wildly dancing roots began to slowly retract into the ground.
