Mythology Rebooted Chapter 113

There was silence in the dining room, only the sound of knives and forks contacting the plates.

Veronica was making a lot of noise on her side, stabbing the steak with her fork and sawing it back and forth with a serrated knife, her eyes dead set on Wayne without uttering a word, as if the beef on the plate was the man himself.

Wayne, "What a coincidence, you’re having dinner too!"

Veronica, "This is my home!"

Wayne, "Dad’s got great food!"

Veronica, "You bastard, just wait."

Upon suddenly learning that her mother had taken a student from outside and was bringing him home for a family banquet, Veronica was a bit stunned. What was this about suddenly having a student, and one her mother valued so much?

There was a sour feeling in Veronica’s heart as she felt that a portion of the motherly love that belonged solely to her had been split away. She inquired whether Mister Lando was aware.

Mister Lando’s face darkened as he described the student—social trash.

To receive such an evaluation from Mister Lando’s mouth, the person must be no ordinary individual. Veronica suddenly became curious.

Then she laid eyes on this piece of social trash.

Have to say, the description was extremely apt!

Veronica squinted her eyes at Wayne, feeling foolish, as if she had been left in the dark from the beginning to the end, like an idiot.

She thought that after being deceived once and learning her lesson, she would never again fall for the lies of social trash, but to her astonishment, social trash came in various forms, and she was conned once more.

At that moment, Veronica had completely forgotten that Hefei had also kept her in the dark for a long time. She was convinced that Wayne was the mastermind, oppressing him with her gaze throughout the meal, trying to mash Wayne into a pile of Potato mush with her glare.

Wayne squinted back, "Nice necklace, pretty white, but your reasoning shouldn’t be that big. Did you stuff padding in there?"

As their gazes met, it was ultimately Wayne whose eyes flickered away, and he found himself at a disadvantage. He could only look through his lashes without staring eye to eye.

Austin couldn’t stand it anymore. How dare this pretty boy flirt in his house, thinking he wouldn’t have the Butler bring in the cement barrel?

Also, just eat your food, kid, where are you looking!

When the student was snorted at, the teacher naturally had to step up to the plate. Hefei put down her cutlery and, with a smile, said to Wayne, "Why are you sitting so far away? Megan, move the young master’s seat next to mine."

"Megan, move the young lady’s seat next to mine!"

The family banquet started off weak and ended with Austin in a slump.

After dinner, Austin, face darkened, took Hefei away. She was reluctant but still followed him out.

Veronica motionlessly motioned to Wayne with a hook of her finger, then turned and walked towards the outside of the dining room. Wayne looked around—she couldn’t be talking to him, so he stayed put and went nowhere.

Moments later, Veronica returned and coldly dragged him out.

The Butler Megan followed close behind, with the master’s orders to keep a close eye on the social trash at all costs and not let him get a taste of sweetness.

As for the master himself, whether he would get beaten facing the Dragonblood High Priestess alone, he advised the Butler not to meddle.

How many times had he said it—this wasn’t about being beaten, it was about a couple’s playful affection!

"Megan, don’t follow me."

Veronica commanded before closing the study’s large door, even locking it from the inside. She picked up her skirt, beckoned Wayne to jump out the window, and headed straight for her own villa.

Behind them, Megan shadowed them until she stopped at the doorstep of the young lady’s private villa.

Veronica didn’t like others entering her room. Even Austin, the head of the family, had to apply in advance, and his applications were often rejected.

It had been a long time since Veronica called Austin ’father,’ usually referring to him as Mister Lando. If she were to change that, it would only be if her mother came home and the two got along without any more quarrels.

As soon as they entered the house, Veronica grabbed Wayne by the collar and pinned him against the wall. Dragon Blood Girl’s arm strength was astonishing, and Wayne was surprised to find that, filled with the Essence of Life as he was, he had little strength to Resist.

"Wow, you’re strong!"

"Yeah, quite strong, you must be pleased, right?" Veronica recalled her recent experiences, very much annoyed: "You knew it all along yet said nothing, and even made me apologize loudly; you clearly just wanted to make fun of me."

Shamelessly, Wayne apologized loudly.

Veronica rolled her eyes, gritted her teeth and said, "Such a small voice, lacking any sincerity."

"Why are you yelling so loudly!"

Finally satisfied, Veronica noticed she was too close to Wayne’s face, so she let go and stepped back, grabbing a jacket to put over her dress to cover the gorgeous evening gown.

Had she known her mother’s student was Wayne, she wouldn’t have dressed up so beautifully.

"Tell me, how do you know my mother, what are you plotting with such insincerity?"

"What, last time you accused my teacher of having ulterior motives, and now you think it’s me who is up to no good?" Wayne looked properly wronged. They were friends, now even closer, and Veronica still doubted his character.

"Did you bring the diary?"

"No, but it’s been updated to today, and I guarantee you’ll be satisfied."

"That’s more like it..."

Veronica muttered quietly, still unable to shake off her annoyance, and questioned, "How did you meet my mother, when did you become her student, and did you show her your diary?"

"How could I, it was the teacher who approached me first, coercing and enticing me to become her student, and she even said she wanted to introduce her daughter to..."
