As Wayne’s headache intensified, Mona suddenly stretched out her hands and clamped the fist rubbing against her face.
An icy voice spread out, and the majestic magic array unfolded in the sewer. Given the limitations of the terrain, Wayne could only see part of the Holy Light Array.
A powerful light shot into the sky, crushing the blood-colored magic power within him and stripping away all components of the Blood Faith in one breath.
Wayne looked at The Book of Greed in horror, exchanged a glance to confirm that the components of blood were still present, and then he let out a painful howl to the heavens.
"Stop it, it hurts so much!"
Mona was greatly encouraged, resolved to eliminate the devil’s minion before her regardless of the consequences.
If possible, she would have preferred to take a prisoner, bring them back to the Holy See for harsh interrogation, and extract the location of the sacrificial ritual to completely shatter the Blood Faith cultists’ scheme.
Unfortunately, the situation was dire, and all she could do was to kill him.
The Holy Light Array lasted for ten seconds, with the Holy Light penetrating into Wayne’s body. Only a small part was intercepted by The Book of Greed, with the remainder not lingering in Wayne’s body for long.
The Holy Light, being highly targeted, did not find traces of Hell within Wayne and judged him as an innocent bystander, so it did not continue to strike him down.
Mona was unaware of this. Although she was fully restored in the Holy Light, her major spell had drained her magic power, leaving her with little cognitive ability to continue high-intensity combat.
Seeing Wayne stagger but unable to fall, she stepped aside and kicked directly at Wayne’s face.
She was not wearing shoes, her robe hung empty at the bottom, her legs wrapped in black stockings, worn and torn in several places.
The kick was full of allure.
Wayne took the kick head-on and was sent flying backward into the wall. He stood up unsteadily and, taking the downhill advantage, he said with difficulty, "You are strong, it seems difficult to take you with me today. But no matter, the great deity has shown me the way forward. I’ll let you be arrogant for a few days; one day, you will fall into my hands."
Mona sneered disdainfully, her white robe glowing with a faint halo, as she surged towards Wayne for a close combat, unleashing deadly moves one after another.
Wayne took several punches and had yet to fall. He raised his hand to block, stopping the black stocking-clad kick.
If you want sultriness, there is sultriness; if you want mood, there is mood. Another day, I’ll have Vili and Cris try on the battle-damage version.
He caught Mona’s ankle with a counter-move, shouted angrily, and swung his arms full circle to slam her against the wall.
Two steps later, Wayne stopped in his tracks.
Portals, akin to gateways, opened in two different directions, with figures emerging from them.
Mona was overjoyed, thinking that reinforcements from the Holy See had arrived, but her heart sank as she got a clear view of the newcomers.
The enemy’s reinforcements had arrived.
A group of figures in black robes blocked both paths, with the leader bursting into laughter: "Who would have thought there was a Blood Faith in Lundan? Kid, how about joining us and serving the Demon God?"

Wayne could never have imagined that, by fooling around with Mona in the sewers, they would coincidentally stumble into the lair of the Thousand-Eyed Demon’s followers.
"Boy, my big brother is asking you a question, are you deaf?"
The black-robed crowd shouted loudly, using their numerical advantage to try to bully the outnumbered, with several lechers casting their gaze on Mona.
"Not bad hips, premium stock."
"A female mage from the Heavenly Father’s Court, she gave us a lot of trouble back then; today she’ll taste some hardship too."
"Hahaha, too difficult, I only have sweetness on me."
"The girl is yours; the boy, I’m taking him."
A gunshot interrupted the self-satisfied vulgarity.
Wayne, holding a pistol aimed above, said coldly: "Shut your mouths. This is my prey, and I have no interest in sharing with others."
"Heh, quite the temper!"
