Endowed with Dragon Blood, Hefei knew full well, even if she couldn’t transform into a Giant Dragon, that such creatures were not so easily tamed—not just anyone was worthy of sitting on the back of a Giant Dragon.
Take her, for example, even if she had been married to Austin for many years, she would never allow him to ride on her back.
So, what exactly was the relationship between her teacher and her son?
Suddenly, Hefei saw the look in Veronica’s eyes—anger, grievance, and a dismissive scorn as if all the injustices had been uncovered, those disdainful little eyes were clearly mocking her intelligence.
Veronica: "What did I tell you? Your teacher has improper thoughts towards Wayne, but you just wouldn’t believe me."

And most critical of all: was the Headless Knight already lying in wait on the Icebound Continent?
Wayne’s scalp tingled, the more he thought about it, the more thrilling it became.
All at once, he received a Telepathic Transmission from Saina inquiring about Austin’s identity as the Dark Knight—did his family know or not.
"Why do you ask that?"
"Master, I have another task on this trip, to find Lundan’s Dark Knight, to relay the oddities of the Icebound Continent, and Mr. Mula, the Naturalist Knight, has extended aninvitation, needing the power of darkness."
"What about the Death Knight... I mean, the Death Knight from Paris, didn’t Mula ask you to invite him as well?"
"Not sure, seems uncontactable, Gavin made it a point when relaying the message, we must gather the power of at least four Knights."
"I understand. I will speak with Austin about this; you don’t need to complicate things."
Wayne could guess even with his toes that once Saina revealed she knew of Austin’s identity as the Dark Knight, teacher Hefei would have a reaction.
Hefei: "In this family, Megan knows, Wayne knows, even the Old Witch we haven’t seen for twenty years knows, only Veronica and I are in the dark. Fine, let’s leave, shall we!"
Veronica: "I’m not going."
Hefei: "Then I will!"
It was too bad, there was no joy to be found in this.
After the meeting, Saina went alone to the young master’s villa, looking as if she planned to stay there for the night.
Hefei’s face was a picture of horror. She imagined all sorts of things, her mind full of vivid, spooky material that scared her into stumbling out of the study.
Veronica, anxious as a cat on a hot tin roof, sent Wayne a look, indicating that he had to come to her room tonight and go nowhere else.
Wayne nodded repeatedly, to be fair, he was also panicked. What if Little Wayne rebelled, and he lost control to the bigger head? That would be quite the spectacle.
After the three of them left, only Wayne and Austin remained in the study, Megan gently closed the door and erected a soundproof barrier to keep others from eavesdropping.
"Austin, I can’t go to the Icebound Continent in your stead anymore. Also, Saina communicated via transmission that she’s going to extend an invitation from the Naturalist Knight to the Dark Knight—you’re in deep trouble now," Wayne said with a serious expression.
"Your problem is bigger. Both the Naturalist and Sun Knights are on the Icebound Continent, there’s also a Moonlight Knight there. Anyway, the problem is already big, it can’t get any worse.
