"What else can we do, just charge in to save them?"
Saina scoffed and bluntly said, "Master, the three knights are crucial to you. If they disappear, no one will know your identity."
Saina’s reasoning was sound. The idea of being chosen by three gods was too preposterous. Inevitably, the knights would one day question their faith, only for the Goddess to be bewildered upon discovering her power had been stolen.
What the Goddess would do, Wayne couldn’t fathom. Judging by himself, nine times out of ten, it wouldn’t be anything good.
For the time being, the fissure in the Projection Space had closed. Torgoguryr wouldn’t descend upon the Icebound Continent again until he had accumulated enough knowledge. Calling it quits and not interfering with each other would be beneficial for the whole world.
The only concern was the three knights who, if they stayed too long in the Projection Space, might get dragged by Torgoguryr into the domain of the Ancient Gods. If one day an Ancient God whimsically visited their territory incognito, the three knights could only become Tentacle Monsters.
Seeing Wayne silent, clearly determined to save them, Saina urgently said, "Master, calm down. Rescuing them won’t benefit you at all."
"They are the God-chosen Knights of a bygone era, too powerful. Perhaps they will become your enemies in the future!"
"Taking risks for an enemy isn’t worth it!"
Wayne nodded, summoned the Pale Nest dressed in Yellow Clothes, and clutched the three gemstones on the chest of the Magic Mecha Doll in his hand.
He said to Anastasia, "You and Saina guard this place. I’m going to find them. If I’m not back in three days, both of you come looking for me."
Anastasia nodded her head, gaining new insight into her faith.
It wasn’t necessarily a bad idea!
"Master, it’s too dangerous," Saina continued to plead.
"It’s fine, I can be reborn within your body. At worst, I’ll get badly injured; it’s not that easy to die," Wayne’s form began to melt as he plunged toward the Dark Sealing Land below.
Taking risks for enemies indeed wasn’t worth it, but for Mula, Leo, and Dreyne, it was all worth it.
After Wayne left, Saina looked viciously at Anastasia, "Look at what you’ve done, traitor. You have betrayed your faith."
Anastasia turned away and after a moment said, "If you mind, he can be reborn within my body."
"Ah, you traitor, what right have you to let the master enter your body? Despicable!" Saina jeered scathingly.
Anastasia was numb with fear; through Saina, she saw her future and didn’t know what to do.
Was it still possible to cry out to the Dark Goddess for help?
In the Dark Sealing Land, Wayne looked from afar at Austin, who was being domestically abused, shook his head in contempt at the scumbag, and continued to infiltrate further downward in his foamy form.
After passing through the seal, Wayne arrived in the familiar Void. He inquired into Anastasia’s mind for information and searched for traces of the Projection Space fissure.
This trip into the Void was as comfortable for Wayne as returning home, finding everything pleasing to the senses.
Except for one thing.
There was a vast amount of knowledge in the Void that was contrary to his understanding of life; The Book of Greed, however, welcomed it all, gathering this information and waving its tentacles with great diligence.
The Book of Greed couldn’t be wrong—Wayne knew this well. After pondering for a moment, he thought he might be too narrow-minded.
The concept of life was grand and magnificent. His knowledge was but a drop in the ocean of true life, insignificant to the point of being dismissible.
If the universe is balanced, then the balance of the universe that encompasses everything is an indisputable truth. Be it himself or Torgoguryr, they only narrate a part of life. Insisting on partiality as the whole, in the future, life forms more powerful and inclusive will inevitably crush them.
Wayne heeded the advice, acknowledged his mistakes, and humbly adjusted his life stance as he stepped into the Void in search of the fissure in the Projection Space.
Soon, he spotted a familiar figure.
Within the shattered space, a massive Void Worm emerged from gnawing at a spatial tunnel.
Wayne was startled and thought, "Aren’t these creatures supposed to be rare, sitting atop the food chain of the Void? Why do I see them every time I come here?"
The Void Worm eyed Wayne hungrily, drooling with the temptation to pounce immediately and devour him.
But not today. While gnawing at the spatial tunnel, it encountered a presence that made it anxious, located just where Wayne was. Attacking now might achieve its desire, but the cost was too much to bear.
The risk was too great. It was better to wait!
The Void Worm grew restless, moving in and out of the pitch-dark spatial tunnel, and eventually opted to give up.
It didn’t go far, lying down right there, squatting.
Thanks to its efforts, Wayne found the remnants of the Projection Space fissure in the tranquil Void, learned a lot from reading, and analyzed that the fissure had been closed from the inside.
Torgoguryr had outsmarted them by employing a bait-and-switch tactic, leaving the three God-chosen Knights outwitted.
Wayne took out three Magic Stones, merged with The Book of Greed to adopt the form of the Pale Knight, his right arm morphing into a blade, and slashed down in the direction indicated by the gems.
