Mythology Rebooted Chapter 752

Veely nestled happily by Wayne’s side, not considering Veronica and Chris’s emotional dispute at all. It didn’t matter that she couldn’t beat them – she had a clever brain. With a little trick, she could manipulate the two fools. Sooner or later, she’d be the one calling the shots.

The meal ended, and both Cushing and Veely were very satisfied, while Carter, the only normal person, was full of concern.

Watching Wayne and her husband walking into nextdoor arm in arm, she gently tapped Veely and quietly expressed her worries.

Carter felt her daughter was too impulsive. Wayne might be an outstanding God-chosen Knight successor, but he definitely wasn’t a suitable boyfriend, let alone someone to discuss marriage with.

As a mother, Carter had been in a coma for fifteen years, unable to accompany her daughter as she grew up and mentally was still stuck fifteen years in the past, so under the weight of her guilt, she spoke softly, fearful that a harsh tone might upset her daughter.

By comparison, Veely had grown much more mature. With one hand on her hip, she pointed at her love rivals, babbling about her upcoming triumph.

Put simply, the mother is still young, it’s normal to not understand love, and she’ll get it in a few years.

Seeing her daughter determined to jump into the pit, Carter could only silently pray for her, saying, "The Watson Family has inherited the mission of the Knight Entourage, always serving Lord Leo. Logically, after a knight passes on his legacy, we can’t continue to serve the next knight; he has his own trusted entourage. But now it seems..."

Carter spoke of her helplessness; if Veely insisted on this path, it would be very difficult for her parents to stand up for her if she was wronged in the future.

Veely’s gaze was fiery upon hearing this. Right, she still had the status of a Knight Entourage, and getting close to Wayne was completely justified. Veronica couldn’t find fault even if she tried.

Why hadn’t she thought of this before!

"Veely, are you listening?"

"You worry too much, mother, he’s really nice to me, he won’t let me be wronged," Veely asserted, firm in her judgment.

Other than not winning fights, she hadn’t made any mistakes in love.

Carter raised her hand and looked at the gift Wayne had given her: ten silk stocking vouchers, redeemable for free at any major store in Lundan.

It was said that these things had great potential for appreciation and would one day become the ultimate luxury item.

Carter didn’t understand; everyone loves beauty, so she reluctantly assumed her daughter’s boyfriend had good intentions. She didn’t know how it would look on her or whether it would make her husband put down his muscly buddy in his arms.

Thinking this way, Wayne suddenly seemed more normal, at least what he had in his arms was a girl.

Soon after, Wayne and Cushing came out arm in arm, Cushing excused himself for having something to do, taking Carter away first, while Wayne continued his date with Veely.

The two walked arm in arm down the street, Veely shedding the scent of a single dog, seeing everything in pink. A few hours later, as the sky began to darken, they stopped and she rubbed her legs.

"Wayne, I’m tired, and it’s still a long way home, what should we do?"

Veely didn’t say anything, looking sideways at her boyfriend, knowing that Wayne understood what she meant.

"Alright, no taxi, I’ll carry you."

Seeing Wayne crouch down with his back to her, Veely approached, though somewhat dissatisfied.

As they continued toward home, Veely whispered into his ear, "What about the candlelit dinner, you said you’d prepare it."

Wayne pondered for a moment and then honestly shared his thoughts, "Candlelit dinners can happen any time, but don’t you think we’re moving too fast? Doing something just to do it isn’t romantic at all."

What’s the use of romance if it doesn’t quench thirst!

"Idiot, you already have a senior and Veronica, how could there be any romance," Veely complained softly. Every time they touched on this subject, she couldn’t help but want to shout, she was there first.

She whispered into Wayne’s ear, "My father and mother have come back, and I moved out of the gym with them. You’ve never been to my house."

"They’re at home, wouldn’t that be inappropriate?"

"They have dates too; they’ve been dating a lot recently, even though they’ve been married for so many years. It’s really annoying."

Listening to Veely’s complaints, Wayne realized something. The progress bar was already full, and his reluctance to move forward under the guise of dating was a very selfish act, ignoring Veely’s feelings just to satisfy his own sense of respecting relationships.

If he’s already a scumbag, there’s no talking about respecting relationships. If he had really respected feelings, he wouldn’t have planned on just coasting in the beginning.

It seemed Mona was in the same boat.

Wayne shook his head, focusing only on Veely at the moment, "Come on, a candlelit dinner, the fanciest local French food, and then I’ll take you home."

"Is, is it too fast?" Veely hesitated a bit, feeling a little panicked though she was eager.

"Ha, today I make the decisions."

The Cushing family lived very close to the gym, so close to Wayne Manor when rounding off, that Wayne could see Chris watering the garden in the air with good visibility.

In Veely’s bedroom, Wayne stood by the window and after a moment’s thought asked, "Veely, you’ve done this sort of thing with me, you have to take responsibility. Have you thought about moving to my house?"

Wouldn’t the senior be very sad? She already saw herself as the lady of the house.

Veely really wanted to move in, eager to see Wayne every day. But then she started having mixed feelings, struggling between sisterhood and that scumbag man for a long time, until finally, through gritted teeth, she nodded.

That wasn’t sisterhood over there, that was her rival; there was no need to consider the rival’s feelings.

The next day, Veely started her moving plans, packing her belongings little by little, moving only a few clothes each time. She estimated that in three months, all her belongings would be moved.
