Anastasia shook her head slightly to clear the helplessness from her mind, and said flatly, "Baron Kimo, I recall you saying that it’s best not to meet now. Can the matter not be discussed over the phone?"
"It concerns the future of the Dark Church; the Queen thinks it’s safer to clarify in person."
Douglas outlined the potential risks: "The Queen has permitted the Dark Church to develop in Lundan, but in exchange, she expects the Dark Church to stand against the Life Alliance."
"This is what we agreed on from the beginning, so why bring it up now? Is there a tough enemy?"
"Hardly an enemy, just a disobedient vassal."
Douglas continued, "Within the Tulip Family there is the Randao Family; the family head Austin and the heir Wayne have ties with the High Priest of the Naturalism Church and the High Priest of the Moonlight Church respectively. To maintain balance, the Queen hopes Her Holiness will step forward when the time comes."
"I understand; that’s not an issue."
Anastasia glanced at Douglas helplessly, thinking he’d certainly picked the right person, "Baron Kimo, is the Randao Family difficult to deal with?"
"Not particularly so, but the Queen is too kind. She does not wish to use the most brutal methods to suppress the Tulip Family."
Douglas concealed his discontent and explained their advantage to Anastasia, "Long ago, the Queen formed an alliance with the Death Knight. She hopes you can find the Dark Knight of Lundan. With two of the God-chosen united, facing pressure from the Life Alliance would be much easier."
