"Boss, I’ll have a bowl of pork rib ramen," Hiroshi said, smiling as he sat down in the ramen shop.
The ramen shop owner, hearing Hiroshi’s order, smiled and nodded. "Okay, please wait a moment, I’ll make it for you right away!"
Hiroshi surprisingly chose pork rib ramen instead of his usual tonkotsu chashu ramen. This was a first. He thought, I always order tonkotsu chashu ramen, but this time I’ll try pork rib ramen. I wonder if it’ll be better.
I’ve been eating tonkotsu chashu ramen for so long, I need a change of pace; otherwise, I’ll get sick of it. He sat, lost in thought. Any ramen can be delicious; it just depends on personal preference. If someone doesn’t like it, it’s just a matter of taste.
He mused, When Naruto’s born, I’ll bring him here for ramen. To be honest, Naruto’s a bit luckier than I was, at least in this era. I was an orphan from birth. Naruto’s parents will die, but at least he’ll have me.
He looked around at the other ramen eaters, lost in thought. As he thought, even if Naruto’s parents died after his birth, he would still have Hiroshi as a brother. While not blood-related, they would be the closest family he had in this world.
He wondered, I can’t believe it’s so hot out, and people are still eating ramen, just like me. Don’t they know what else to eat? But of course, these people weren’t here because they didn’t know what else to eat; they probably just really loved ramen. It’s like someone who loves alcohol and feels terrible without it every day.
He smiled, thinking, After I eat, I’ll get two bowls to go, then rest before heading to school. Tonight, I’ll become a Chunin! Just thinking about reaching Chunin makes me excited!

"Okay, son, here’s your pork rib ramen. Be careful, it’s hot," the ramen shop owner said softly, placing a steaming bowl in front of Hiroshi.
"Thank you, sir! You’re a lifesaver. And could I get two more to go? I’ll take them home with me," Hiroshi said with a smile.
The ramen shop owner nodded and went back into the kitchen.
"Alright, let’s see how this pork rib ramen tastes," Hiroshi whispered, picking up his chopsticks. He eagerly began to eat.
