Harumiko turned to him, whispering, "Hiroshi, you’re not paying attention again!"
Hiroshi turned to her, whispering with a smile, "It’s not that I don’t want to listen. Is there any point? They’re teaching basic stuff we already know. What’s the point?"
"Oh, so that’s how you feel! Don’t you know we have a mock exam in a few days? Whoever scores the lowest might get extra tutoring from the teacher!"
"And you might have to repeat the year, unless you’re incredibly smart and all your physical abilities are up to standard. Then you don’t have to worry about that," Harumiko said, smiling.
Hiroshi was completely unaware of this.
"What? There’s an exam in a few days? I didn’t hear anything about that!" Hiroshi was surprised; he had no idea there was an upcoming exam.
Harumiko realized Hiroshi didn’t know. "The teacher announced it this morning, but you were sleeping. I was going to tell you after school, but I forgot after everything that happened."
Hiroshi regretted not paying attention and sleeping in class.
"It’s okay. At least you didn’t tell me the day before. I still have a few days to study. Now I see why they taught us those basics!" Hiroshi said, a little embarrassed.
Harumiko couldn’t help but giggle softly.
There’s a mock exam in a few days! This exam is crucial. A bad score means serious consequences, but a good score might lead to early graduation, Hiroshi thought, turning back to the teacher.
Hiroshi had wanted to graduate early for a long time, but he was a bottom-tier student before and didn’t have the qualifications.
Now, Hiroshi is incredibly strong—one of the best in the Academy. If he passes this exam, he might graduate early, which would make him very happy.
