Naruto: AFK System Chapter 119

After Yoruha and Hon Yatako found Yamada Shuki, they headed to a barbecue restaurant. Now that Yoruha had become a Chunin, he could take on higher-level missions in the future. A Chunin can accept missions up to B-rank, which means if the squad leader is a Chunin, that's the highest mission level they can take.

If there's a Jonin in the squad, then A-rank and S-rank missions are also possible, but in such cases, the Jonin leads, and the Chunin assists. Yoruha was uncharacteristically generous this time, as he likely wouldn't have to worry about money in the future. The commission for a B-rank mission ranges from 80,000 to 200,000 ryo.

The village takes half, and the remaining amount is distributed among the team executing the mission. Yoruha thought that if he went on a B-rank mission alone, he would earn at least 40,000 ryo, which was roughly equivalent to his living expenses for a year.

Of course, for ordinary ninjas, a significant amount of money must be spent on purchasing ninja tools. Even if they kept the entire commission from a B-rank mission, it would only be enough to buy thirty to forty explosive tags. Ninjas with average skills, even Jonin, would carry at least ten explosive tags on missions. This is why many Jonin, despite completing numerous missions and having seemingly high incomes, still live frugally.

This is because purchasing ninja tools takes up a large portion of their income. For most ninjas, ninja tools are crucial for surviving missions, so they can't afford to be careless.

Otherwise, even if they saved money, they wouldn't live to spend it. Ninjas must purchase their own tools, as the village only provides a platform for mission assignments. Yoruha dared to spend money because he didn't need to buy many ninja tools, only occasionally replacing a batch of kunai and shuriken.

Yoruha's current fighting style didn't require ninja tools. He rarely used shuriken and used kunai more often, but not for combat—rather, to threaten enemies.

Otherwise, it would be odd to threaten someone with his bare hand at their throat. Since Yoruha hardly used ninja tools, the kunai and shuriken he bought upon graduation still looked new, just like when he first bought them.

As long as Yoruha didn't buy a house in the future, relying solely on his income as a ninja, he could save a considerable amount of money to live comfortably, even if not extravagantly. Yoruha didn't have high demands for his lifestyle. Plus, the house his parents left him wasn't destroyed during the Nine-Tails incident.

As long as Yoruha didn't want to buy a new house, he wouldn't need much money beyond living expenses. This was why Yoruha was quite satisfied with becoming a Chunin. However, his mindset seemed a bit like being content with hard work.

He wasn't obsessed with wealth but hoped to live comfortably and didn't want to live like an ascetic. Moreover, he preferred earning money through missions rather than unconventional means. Yoruha's thinking was different from others; he believed that missions were beneficial for him, allowing him to gain practical experience and essentially travel on the village's dime.

He didn't mind it; in fact, he quite enjoyed it.

If he really wanted to make money, he would have taken out Gato and stolen his money long ago. But Yoruha didn't do that. At the barbecue restaurant, Yoruha explained to Tanako and Yamada Jukumowhat he had been doing during this time and also told them that he wouldn't be able to accompany them on missions anymore.

Although Tanako and Yamada Jukumowere saddened, they didn't say much. Even though they hadn't known Yoruha for long, they held him in high regard. They couldn't forget how Yoruha had single-handedly withstood the killing intent of Kihon Toichi, allowing them to pass the graduation exam.

At noon, the three of them stood at the entrance of the barbecue restaurant. Yamada Jukumolooked at Yoruha and couldn't help but shed tears. He knew that he and Yoruha were no longer on the same level as ninjas.

But he was still very sad because he had already considered Yoruha a good friend. Yet, after only completing two missions together, they were parting ways. With tears streaming down his face, Yamada Jukumosmiled and raised his fist, saying, "Yoruha, no matter what kind of person you become in the future, you'll always be part of Team 11, and you'll always be my best friend, Yamada Shuki."

Yoruha was also touched, and he earnestly patted Yamada Shuki's shoulder. "No matter what happens to me in the future, I'll always be part of Team 11, and we're all in Konoha. We just won't be doing missions together anymore, so don't make it sound like I'm dying," Yoruha said with a smile. Hearing this, Yamada Jukumofinally broke into a smile amidst his tears and playfully punched Yoruha's chest.

"I'll work hard to become stronger. Although the hope is slim, I at least want to see your back, to see you keep moving forward." Tanako looked at Yoruha, remaining silent. She was the saddest of all.

She hadn't expected that Yoruha had gathered them to say this. She never thought Yoruha would leave. She had believed that as long as she worked hard, she wouldn't hold Yoruha back. Now it seemed she wouldn't be holding him back because he wouldn't be doing missions with them anymore.

When she heard yesterday that Yoruha had become a Chunin, she had admired him for being so impressive. But now she realized the gap between her and Yoruha had grown so large that she couldn't even see his shadow. Yoruha looked at Tanako and smiled, "Tanako, see you later then."

As Yoruha finished speaking and was about to leave, Tanako couldn't hold back any longer, and tears flowed uncontrollably. Yet, she forced a smile and said, "Yoruha, I'll definitely work hard to catch up with you." Her mind was blank, and she didn't know what else to say.

Yoruha nodded and smiled, "I know, I believe you'll become very strong." Although Yoruha said this against his better judgment, knowing that Tanako's talent wasn't particularly high and quite ordinary, he genuinely hoped she would become stronger, at least to protect herself, and the same went for Yamada Shuki.

These two held a special place in his heart. While Yoruha might brush off Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, finding them bothersome, he sincerely hoped Tanako and Yamada Jukumocould become stronger and protect themselves.

The feeling these two gave Yoruha was very positive, and he could feel their genuine affection and trust towards him. However, the gap between Yoruha and them had indeed widened significantly. Even though Yoruha never had a clear understanding of his own strength, he knew that even with the most conservative estimate, his abilities far surpassed theirs, and they were no longer on the same level as ninjas.

In the future, the missions Yoruha would undertake would be beyond their reach. Even if Yoruha was reluctant, he knew that their team bond had to come to an end.
