Gulp, gulp, gulp—Hic!
The morning sun bathed the classrooms of the Konoha Ninja Academy in golden light.
At the front of the elite class, their instructor, Hideichi Tanaka, was writing on the blackboard, diligently explaining the core techniques of ninjutsu.
But a loud, unmistakable sound of chugging echoed from the back of the classroom, making his eye twitch violently.
Veins bulged on his forehead.
He turned sharply, his frustration boiling over.
"YOUYU! How many times do I have to say this?! No drinking in class!"
The classroom fell into dead silence. Every student turned their heads toward the figure at the back—the one holding a sake bottle and lazily drinking away.
"Has... has the teacher lost his mind?"
"Did he just try to discipline Youyu?"
"Has he forgotten about our previous instructor? That guy still has to go to therapy, y'know..."
"It's over. The teacher's about to get cut down, isn't he?"
The students whispered nervously, sweat forming on their brows as they stared at the undisputed king of their class.
"Huh? What was that?"
Youyu blinked drowsily, hiccuping as he swayed slightly in his seat. His eyes, slightly glazed from alcohol, lazily focused on his teacher.
Tanaka's hands trembled slightly.
I screwed up. I acted on impulse again!
It was well-known throughout Konoha that Youyu was a full-blown alcoholic—even though he was just a kid.
Rumor had it that he'd been drinking since he was two years old.
And the scariest part? His strength was completely absurd.
Even Kakashi Hatake, the prodigy who graduated at six, had lost to him.
Tanaka still vividly remembered his first day taking over the elite class. Everyone had introduced themselves. Then, it was Youyu's turn.
"My name is Sakumo Youyu. My hobbies are drinking... and cutting people."
He had said it so nonchalantly.
That was also the day Tanaka learned why he was taking over this class in the first place—because the previous teacher was still hospitalized.
Not just physically injured—mentally scarred.
The reason?
That teacher had once made the fatal mistake of knocking over Youyu's sake bottle.
What happened next was simple:
One slash.
Just one.
The previous instructor, an elite ninja, was seriously injured.
And at the time, Youyu had only been six years old.
Now, at eight years old... who the hell knew how strong he had gotten?!
If he slipped up and got himself killed, would the Hokage even care?!
"You want me to stop drinking? How is that even possible?"
Youyu grinned, raising the bottle to his lips.

Just like in his introduction—his two greatest passions in life were drinking and slashing.

He quickly finished off another bottle.
"Eh? Already empty?"
He held it up, tilting it to check if there were any drops left.
His vision blurred slightly, the bottle in his hand swaying out of focus.
