Naruto: I Am The System Chapter 91

The battle erupted in an instant.

The Suna ninjas stormed into the Konoha encampment, and weapons swung down mercilessly—decapitating Konoha ninjas whose bodies had gone limp under the effects of the poison gas.

Chiyo herself controlled her puppets, targeting the stronger Konoha ninja who were still relatively unaffected.

Originally, she had intended to exchange for a deadly poison that could kill silently. But recalling the Lord God's rule—"No mass slaughter of intelligent life during non-reincarnator missions"—she opted instead for a non-lethal toxic gas.

It was just a paralyzing agent. Surely, that wouldn't violate the system's rules, right?

Apparently not—at least, it hadn't triggered any warnings from the Lord God... probably.

What Chiyo didn't know was that Nawaki had been watching her the entire time—carefully analyzing this loophole in the rules.

The system forbade Reincarnators from directly committing mass slaughter outside of assigned missions. But what if a Reincarnator, like Chiyo, didn't kill anyone herself... and instead commanded others to do the killing?

Did that count as breaking the rule?

It was a thorny question.

If the answer was yes, Reincarnators would be banned from participating in large-scale real-world conflicts, limited to serving only as elite combat units.

If the answer was no... then the rule might as well not exist. It could be exploited just like this—rendered meaningless.

"I knew from the start that the rules I set would eventually have loopholes, but when they actually show up, it's still such a headache..."

After thinking it over for a moment, Nawaki made his decision:

It counts.

After all, any intelligent life killed by non-Reincarnators didn't yield him any points. Outside of missions, Reincarnators' actions were also cut off from point generation.

So rather than letting these people die in meaningless wars, it was better to keep them alive and safe.

He'd simply harvest his points later—like reaping wheat—from other worlds.

Was that cruel or cold-blooded?

Maybe. But humans were naturally indifferent to strangers. Nawaki's indifference was simply... more pronounced than most.

As for Chiyo, under the current interpretation of the old rules, she technically hadn't broken any. So Nawaki ignored her for now.

"The only real shame is... I can't harvest a bunch of points from this battle."

Just thinking about all the Konoha ninjas who were about to die made Nawaki's heart ache.

Each one of them—walking, talking points!

To gain points, he needed to issue Reincarnator missions. Only then could he siphon off fortune and destiny from their actions.

Right now, though, they were mid-battle.

If Nawaki issued a random bounty, maybe Orochimaru would pause to check. But Chiyo? Jiraiya? Tsunade? No way they'd stop fighting just to grab a quest before resuming battle.

"Fine. I'll handle it myself and claim a few kills. I can even use the opportunity to boost my reputation inside Konoha."

Cracking his knuckles, Nawaki stood up and strapped the Avalon sheath—Tsunade's gift—onto his back. Not just for show; Avalon granted immunity to poison, which neatly explained why he hadn't succumbed to the gas.

His figure blurred.

Just moments earlier—when the Suna ninja first invaded

Summoning Jutsu!

As the Suna ninja crashed into the Konoha camp like wolves among sheep, only Tsunade remained calm. Jiraiya and Orochimaru didn't summon their beasts.

After all, summoning massive creatures in the middle of their own encampment—where many comrades were paralyzed—would be a disaster waiting to happen.

Still, even without summoning, the power of the Three Legendary Sannin was overwhelming.

Compared to just a few months ago, they had grown terrifyingly stronger.

Jiraiya formed a hand seal, and Sage markings instantly spread across his face. With a leap, he soared into the air and opened his mouth:

Sage Art: Fire Style — Giant Flame Bomb!

A scorching, ten-meter-wide fireball erupted forward—its heat distorting the air. Reflected in the terrified eyes of many Suna ninja, it crashed down.

This time, there was no enemy capable of swallowing the flames.

Boom!

When the flames finally dispersed, the ground had melted into a scorched pit. Several Suna ninja—too slow to dodge or caught dead center—were reduced to charred husks, shattered where they fell.

Orochimaru, like a specter, glided through the chaos—summoning serpents or flocks of bats. Every time he passed an enemy, he claimed a life.

Tsunade, meanwhile, charged directly at Chiyo's puppets. Raising a pale, powerful fist, she brought it crashing down.

Bang!

With a single punch, one of the hardened puppets—crafted from unknown materials—was obliterated, reduced to scattered fragments that shot off like shrapnel.

The Three Sannin, after their reincarnator missions, had grown far beyond their counterparts from the original timeline.

If Hanzo of the Salamander were to face them now…

He'd die horribly.

And beyond them, other Konoha ninjas also shined on the battlefield.

Take for example a silver-haired man, face weathered by experience, wielding a short chakra blade that glowed with pale light.

Each sweep of his blade was graceful yet deadly—even seasoned jōnin struggled to block his strikes.

But…

There were simply too many enemies.

Despite the number of powerful fighters in Konoha, none had yet reached true Kage-level.

They could hold their own against a handful of opponents, but when a dozen elite Suna jōnin swarmed like flies—even Tsunade found herself pinned down.

No matter how strong one's individual skill, numbers could drastically raise the difficulty.

Chiyo smirked coldly, manipulating puppet after puppet, dueling Tsunade blow for blow.

The battle was clearly swinging in the Suna's favor.

As long as they eliminated the weakened genin and chūnin who couldn't fight back, it no longer mattered whether the jōnin lived or died.

Her personal vengeance would also be fulfilled.

And then—

A teenager's figure flashed onto the battlefield, suddenly appearing beside Tsunade.

So fast that no one could react.

"Nawaki?! What are you doing?! Get back to safety!" Tsunade's pupils shrank. Her voice was urgent.

She thought Nawaki had exhausted his chakra with two large-scale Wood Style jutsu earlier. In her eyes, he had no more strength to fight.

But Nawaki simply shook his head.

In his hand was a kunai marked with the Flying Thunder God seal.

"My chakra's fully recovered, sis."

With a flick of his wrist, the kunai flew.

In an instant, it split into two—then four—multiplying like falling rain, raining down on the Suna jōnin and puppets pinning Tsunade down.

Shadow Clone Jutsu: Flying Thunder God Kunai!

The jōnin quickly tracked the projectiles' trajectories and easily dodged them with practiced footwork.

Smirks curled at their lips.

Naive kid. Throwing kunai might work on genin or chūnin—but against jōnin? It's only useful to cut off movement at a critical moment. Throwing them right away is meaningless.

And then—they froze.

Just like when he first appeared, Nawaki vanished in a flash.

Even the jōnin couldn't fully track his movement—only the faint blur left behind on their retinas.

Then, they realized—dozens of Nawaki's afterimages appeared behind them.

Each one raising a blade—

Flying Thunder God Slash!
