Naruto: I am Uchiha Fugaku Chapter 179

Uchiha Fugaku's Study

Led by one of the clan's guards, Uchiha Miyabi—the medic who had previously performed the eye transplant on the Number One spore clone—arrived at the study.

"Clan Head, did you summon me because something went wrong with the transplant? " she asked a bit nervously.

She could tell how much importance Fugaku placed on that special clone.

Though she was confident in her medical ninjutsu and had performed transplants for other clan members before, she still couldn't help but worry—had some unexpected complication caused the transplant to fail?

"No, the surgery was a complete success," Fugaku replied with a gentle shake of his head and a smile. "The clone experienced no discomfort at all after the operation."

"Then… why did you call for me? "Uchiha Miyabi asked in confusion.

If it wasn't about the transplant, what other matter could have required her presence?

"Take a look at this first," Fugaku said, motioning to a small green scroll on the desk.

Miyabi reached out and unrolled it.

The moment she saw the contents, her eyes lit up. She stared at the scroll with a burning intensity.

To her, a medical ninja, this little green scroll was a priceless treasure—like discovering a secret art buried deep within the annals of ninjutsu.

It contained highly advanced cell transplant techniques.

If she could master it, her medical skills would see a dramatic improvement.

After a long pause, she carefully rolled it back up, as if afraid to damage it. She even wiped the scroll on her clothes, just to keep the sweat on her hands from staining it.

Such a valuable scroll had to be preserved with utmost care.

Seeing how cautiously she handled the scroll, Fugaku couldn't help but think of the way Orochimaru had once spit it out of his mouth. If Miyabi knew what the scroll had once been contaminated with, he wondered what expression she might make.

"Clan Head… this is Hashirama cell transplantation—how did you come by something ? "Miyabi asked, clearly reluctant to place the scroll back on the table.

"I came across it by chance," Fugaku replied vaguely. "Can you verify whether the techniques recorded are genuine? "

"They're real. This is a complete and refined Hashirama cell transplant technique," she affirmed confidently.

As a highly capable medical ninja, she could tell it was authentic.

"Good. Then I'm entrusting this scroll to you. I want you to fully comprehend and master the techniques recorded within," Fugaku said, glancing again at the green scroll.

He had already made a clean backup copy, since the original had been… too filthy for his taste.

"Yes, sir," Miyabi responded joyfully, as if regaining a lost treasure.

After carefully tucking the scroll into her ninja pouch, she hesitated, then furrowed her brow and asked, "Clan Head… you want me to learn this technique?. Are we preparing to begin experiments involving Hashirama cell transplantation? "

Although the Wood Release Kekkei Genkai was undoubtedly powerful, the Uchiha already possessed a formidable Kekkei Genkai of their own.

Aside from the high risk of failure, even a successful transplant didn't guarantee the wielder would gain Wood Release.

From her perspective, transplanting Hashirama cells seemed unnecessary for the Uchiha—and could even result in many deaths.

"As a medical ninja of the Uchiha clan, you're aware that overuse of the Mangekyō Sharingan leads to blindness, correct? " Fugaku asked instead of answering directly.

"Yes," Miyabi nodded.

She knew that the clan's first medical practitioners had originally taken up the art in hopes of curing the Mangekyō's side effects.

Unfortunately, after hundreds of years, no remedy had been found.

"I've obtained reliable information: transplanting Hashirama cells can halt the progression of Mangekyō-induced blindness."

"Furthermore, the Sharingan—especially the Mangekyō—has the ability to resist the corrosive effects of Hashirama cells. So for Uchiha, the success rate of transplantation is much higher than it would be for ordinary people."

Fugaku did not conceal anything. He shared what he had learned from Orochimaru and his own research.

Miyabi, being one of the clan's top medical ninjas, was the one Fugaku intended to carry out the actual transplants in the future.

He had no intention of hiding anything from her.

"There's such a relationship between Hashirama cells and the Sharingan…" Miyabi covered her mouth, stunned.

What Fugaku just told her shook her to the core. Her first reaction was disbelief.

But she knew Fugaku would never lie about something this important—so it had to be true.

Who would've thought that the key to solving the Mangekyō's age-old flaw—blindness—was in Hashirama's cells?

Even more surprising, the Uchiha's Sharingan could naturally suppress their invasive effects.

"Clan Head… are you planning to transplant the cells into yourself? "

She had been one of the few to accompany Fugaku to the Land of Fields and knew he had awakened the Mangekyō.

"No," he said, shaking his head. "Due to the unique nature of my ocular technique, I won't go blind even without a transplant."

"The importance of this transplant technique to the Uchiha clan—you understand it now."

"I hope you can fully master it, and at the right time, pass it on to the most talented young medical ninja of our clan. Let this legacy continue."

Uchiha Miyabi stood at attention, filled with reverence.

Comprehending this technique—so vital to the Uchiha clan—and passing it on to the next generation felt like a sacred mission.

After she left, Fugaku made his way to the hidden chamber near the Naka Shrine.

Using the Spore Clone Technique multiple times, he finally produced four clones.

None of them were mutations like Number One—just standard spore clones.

A mutation like Number One required exceptional luck to replicate.

"In a few more days, the total number of spore clones should exceed fifty," Fugaku muttered. "Then the plan can begin—we'll start moving the elite Uchiha shinobi outside the village for training exercises in preparation."

His eyes gleamed coldly.

Whether for the sake of the clan or the evolution of his Mangekyō Sharingan, Uchiha Shisui had to die.

He could hardly wait to kill that treacherous white-eyed wolf.
