On the fifth day after Guts led the troops into the Land of Earth, they finally confronted the Rock Shinobi, led by none other than the Third Tsuchikage,Onoki.
The Rock Shinobi forces of this era were undeniably powerful.
Onoki, still in his prime, stood strong. And more importantly, both the Four-Tails and Five-Tails Jinchūriki—still loyal to the village,were part of their forces.
Though they couldn't achieve full-tailed beast transformations like the future Killer Bee from the Cloud Village, they could wield a significant portion of their Tailed Beasts' power.
Each one,a solid Kage-level threat.
As the Rock Shinobi advanced, Onoki floated in the sky, his eyes narrowing.
He spotted a lone figure standing at the very front of the Konoha army. No more than fourteen years old.
Behind him, Orochimaru's main forces were stationed half a mile back in formation.
Onoki's gaze sharpened.
He gathered chakra into his throat and called out across the battlefield:
"Hey, brat! You the one they call 'Guts'? The so-called strongest Taijutsu user,the one who killed the Third Raikage?"
Guts didn't bother responding. Instead, he pointed at Onoki's oversized nose and asked with a calm smirk:
"Tsunade and the others told me... it was your Dust Release that killed White Fang. That true?"
Onoki's brow twitched. This kid dared ignore him?
But then, a slight grin tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Yes... that was me."
Konoha's White Fang,once considered among the top five strongest shinobi alive,had fallen to his Dust Release.
Even if it had been a finishing blow, that alone was something Onoki held pride in.
Guts lowered his hand but kept the grin.
"Then let me give you a little preview..."
"You're going to die in this war, old man. At my hands. Let's skip the formalities,you will die fr."
Onoki's veins bulged with irritation. The arrogance, the disrespect,it was infuriating.
But he wasn't young anymore, and not so easily provoked.
"Standing at the front like that... there's no way this is just bravado. Han, go test him."
Sensing something off about Konoha's unusual formation, Onoki didn't risk a full frontal charge.
Instead, he sent forward his most reliable Kage-level warrior,the Five-Tails Jinchūriki, Han.
Guts raised an eyebrow as Han approached.
"Huh. Not charging in like the Cloud idiots? Smart."
"Too bad it won't help."
Suddenly, Namikaze Minato appeared beside Guts, one hand resting on his shoulder.
In the same motion, his other hand flicked a tri-pronged Flying Thunder God kunai.
Han had no time to react.
In a blink, Guts and Minato vanished, reappearing directly above the Rock Shinobi army.
Guts dropped like a meteor into the center of the enemy formation.
Onoki's eyes widened.
"What is this brat planning?! Did he just throw himself into the enemy ranks?!"
A sinister smile stretched across Guts's face as he slowly raised his arms in Doflamingo's style.
A heavy, invisible pressure spread from him like a crashing wave.
Dozens,no, hundreds—of Rock Shinobi below the Jonin level collapsed on the spot.
"Wha...What the hell!?"
Onoki, Han, and even the experienced shinobi around them were stunned.
Back on Konoha's side, the younger shinobi stared in awe. Even some who had seen it before were still shocked.
Shisui, wide-eyed, exclaimed with reverence:
"It's happening again! Sensei's—Guts's, Conqueror's Haki!"
"With this move alone, who cares about numbers?!"
"Now do you get it, Onoki?! Just like Sensei said, you're dead meat! Hahaha!"
From behind, Orochimaru chuckled darkly to himself, his eyes glinting with fascination.
"Guts-kun… you're becoming more and more interesting... heh… hahaha…"
With a single hand gesture, Orochimaru signaled the charge.
The Konoha forces surged forward with a roar.
Guts, meanwhile, raised his right fist high,and then slammed it into the ground.
It was like a meteor had struck.
The earth cracked and shattered. The Rock Shinobi who'd fallen unconscious from the Haki were launched into the air.
Above them, Minato blurred into motion, kunai flying in every direction.
The [Yellow Flash] lived up to his name.
In a storm of light and death, he cut through Rock Shinobi midair, harvesting them with ruthless speed and precision.
"Damn it!" Onoki gritted his teeth. "Rōshi! Stop that Yellow Flash!"
Rōshi, standing nearby, hesitated.
He and Onoki had clashed over ideals before. But this wasn't the time for politics.
Rōshi formed a quick seal.
"Lava Style—Burning River Rock Technique!"
He spat out several massive, molten boulders glowing with lava.
As a user of Lava Release and Jinchūriki of the Four-Tails, Rōshi's affinity was unmatched.
Minato vanished with ease, weaving through the lava with almost no effort.
Frustrated, Rōshi clasped his hands together and transformed,his body glowing and hardening.
He activated Lava Style Chakra Mode, his speed increasing dramatically as molten energy radiated from him like a living volcano.
"You forgot something."
Guts's voice echoed calmly behind him.
Rōshi froze and looked down
Only to see one of the lava boulders he had just launched now flying back toward him,thrown by Guts with monstrous strength.
