Chapter 59 - 59: Dance of the Foolish
Shimura Danzo stood confidently, hands clasped behind his back, lips curled into that familiar condescending sneer.
In front of him stood Zeldris — calm, alone, and in Danzo's mind... already dead.
"Hmph," Danzo mused smugly,
"Thirty elite ANBU under my direct command. This isn't a battle. It's pest control."
With both Zeldris and the detested Uchiha wiped out, today was shaping up to be a truly historic day for Konoha — or at least, Danzo's version of it.
But before he could mentally pop the champagne, something... off caught his eye.
Zeldris lifted his head slightly, and his eyes began to glow — a soft, otherworldly purple light pierced through the shadows, eerie and unblinking.
Danzo's smugness faltered.
"...R-Rinnegan?!" he gasped, heartbeat skipping a beat.
No. He squinted. No ripple pattern.
Just a faint glow. No tomoe. No concentric circles. Not the Rinnegan. But still...
"What the hell is that?!" he thought, brows twitching as his lone eye narrowed.
The ANBU rushed forward on cue, blades drawn, their figures blurring in motion.
And Zeldris?
He grinned — slow, casual, like a cat watching mice throw themselves into its mouth.
"Wanna see something cool?" he said, raising a glowing fist, radiating pure white light.
"I call this one... Real. Damn. Terror."
The next second, the entire battlefield was lit up — like someone had dropped a miniature sun between them.
"The hell—?!" one ANBU cried, shielding his face as the others staggered mid-charge.
Even Danzo flinched, instinctively stepping back.
"Tch! Another bizarre move?! What is this brat made of?!"
He cursed inwardly,
"Uchiha Madara, you bastard. You didn't say anything about him being a discount apocalypse."
Still, a flicker of greed sparked in his heart.
"This power... Is it a new Kekkei Genkai? A unique bloodline limit? If I could transplant it—"
CRACK!
A sharp, jarring sound snapped him out of his scheming. Glass? No... worse.
Danzo's eye widened as he watched Zeldris punch the air itself — and it broke.
White cracks spread through the very fabric of space like a spiderweb under a hammer.
"What... the actual hell?!"
No one moved. No one could move.
One brave soul muttered, "He... just punched the air?"
Another whispered, "Wait, is that... is that space shattering?!"
Danzo swallowed. Hard.
Then the ground began to tremble.
At first, it was a whisper. Then, it roared.
Like Konoha itself was groaning under the pressure of Zeldris's presence.
"Did... he cause that earlier earthquake?!" another ANBU cried out, visibly shaking.
Zeldris chuckled. "Oh, we're just getting started."
The shockwave came next.
BOOM!
Cracks spidered out beneath Zeldris's feet, the earth splitting like parchment. Entire buildings folded like paper, dust and rubble rising in a chaotic storm.
From above, it looked like a god had decided Konoha needed a makeover — and chose rage as the color palette.
Danzo could no longer mask the terror in his eye.
"Is this... is this even the same Zeldris?!"
He looked nothing like the boy Danzo thought he could control — now, he looked more like a wrathful deity descending for judgment, white hair whipping in the wind, eyes glowing like twilight death.
Then came the screams.
One by one, ANBU operatives were launched into the air, flung like ragdolls, blood spraying in slow arcs against the backdrop of chaos.
Zeldris didn't move. He just stood there — expressionless, as if he hadn't just vaporized a third of Konoha's tactical division.
Danzo's cane snapped in half before he could even lift it. A moment later, he joined his men in the air, flying backward like a sack of meat.
Thud!
He hit the ground hard. Pain erupted through his body as he spat out blood, staining the dirt crimson.
"...W-What the hell... is he...?" he muttered, teeth clattering.
His limbs trembled. His body screamed. His pride shattered harder than the air Zeldris had punched.
That's when he heard it — slow, deliberate footsteps. Zeldris was walking toward him.
No words. No mercy. Just a cold stare that said, You're not worth my anger — but I'll kill you anyway.
Danzo's heart pounded. "H-He took down everyone... by himself. Thirty elite shinobi. Me. All of us. With a punch."
"This... This is a monster!"
And yet, deep down, one final, pathetic thought clawed its way to the surface of his mind:
"Damn it. Should've brought more ANBU."
