Uchiha Shisui's heart sank into despair.
The five-minute duration of Izanagi—which he had activated at the cost of his right eye's sight—had finally expired.
Worse yet, his chakra reserves were depleted, and his Mangekyō Sharingan's power had been completely exhausted.
Susanoo could no longer be used.
And with the Uchiha Flame Formation still sealing the battlefield, escape was impossible.
He had reached his limit.
"Uchiha Shisui, today is the day you die!"
Fugaku's expression darkened, his cold voice carrying an undeniable finality.
Shisui had betrayed the Uchiha, blindly following the Third Hokage's will, directly contributing to the clan's suffering.
To Fugaku, there was no greater crime than betraying one's own bloodline.
Only death could atone for such treachery.
"I won't let the Mangekyō Sharingan fall into the wrong hands!"
Shisui's hand trembled as he clutched his remaining eye.
He knew its power all too well. If it fell into the hands of an enemy, it could become a weapon of catastrophe.
And to Shisui—Fugaku was an enemy.
"Izanagi—!"
Forcing one last burst of power from his dying left eye, he activated Izanagi once more.
His vision blurred, the world shifting and rewinding.
But unlike before—
This time, the eye did not regenerate.
By activating Izanagi a second time, he had sacrificed his final eye, leaving himself completely blind.
Fugaku watched the scene unfold, his face devoid of surprise.
"I knew you'd do that."
He had expected Shisui to destroy his own eye to prevent it from being taken.
And just as he had predicted, that's exactly what happened.
Unlike Danzo, Fugaku hadn't relied on a sneak attack. He knew better than to expect an easy prize from a Kage-level shinobi.
So he hadn't counted on taking the eye in the first place.
Instead—he had planned only for Shisui's death.
"Shisui-ryu Body Flicker—!"
With his sight now fading into total darkness, Shisui launched himself forward, his body splitting into dozens of flickering afterimages.
His final gamble—
To kill Fugaku before he died himself.
Even if the chances were slim, even if his power was exhausted—he had to try.
Because Uchiha Fugaku was a threat.
To the peace of Konoha, to the stability of the village—
Fugaku had to die.
"Hyōton: Makyo Hyosho—Ice Release: Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals!"
Fugaku's voice carried no emotion as he formed hand seals.
Dozens of ice mirrors instantly surrounded the battlefield, trapping both himself and Shisui inside a reflective prison.
Fugaku stepped forward and merged into the mirrors, disappearing from view.
Whoosh!
Like a phantom, he shot out from one mirror, a blur of ice and steel.
His kunai slashed across Shisui's flesh, tearing open a fresh wound before he vanished into another mirror.
Puff! Puff! Puff!
Over and over, Fugaku struck from different angles, his speed exceeding Shisui's ability to react.
The legendary Body Flicker user, the one hailed as the fastest of his generation, was now being overwhelmed.
Blood spattered onto the ice as Shisui's body accumulated more and more wounds.
Deep slashes ran across his chest, arms, and legs, each wound worsening his already dire condition.
Then—
A final strike.
Fugaku emerged from the ice, his kunai stabbing directly into Shisui's forehead.
For a moment, Shisui's body tensed—his eyes wide in shock.
Then—
He fell lifeless.
Buzz!
Once more, Izanagi activated, rewriting his death.
Shisui revived a short distance away, gasping for breath.
But Fugaku wasn't finished yet.
"You will die again. And again. And again."
A cruel smirk spread across Fugaku's face.
Again—he attacked.
Again—Shisui died.
Again—he revived.
Again—he was cut down.
Each time, his pain was real.
Each time, his suffering deepened.
This was punishment.
A traitor to the Uchiha did not deserve a swift death.
For ten whole minutes—
Shisui died repeatedly.
Each resurrection brought with it more pain, more torment.
Until—
Izanagi's time limit expired.
His left eye turned completely blind.
The final safeguard of his life was gone.
He was helpless.
"Uchiha Shisui, you betrayed the clan. You will now be executed."
Fugaku's voice was absolute.
Whoosh!
Fugaku dashed forward, his kunai aimed for Shisui's heart.
Though blind, Shisui heard the movement and swung his sword desperately.
But Fugaku dodged easily.
His blade stabbed deep into Shisui's chest.
Puff!
Blood gushed out, staining his clothes crimson.
Summoning the last of his strength, Shisui swung once more, aiming for Fugaku's throat.
But Fugaku had already moved away.
Shisui's final attack missed.
His legs gave out.
His body collapsed.
Thud.
Lying on the ground, his breathing grew ragged.
His vision—gone.
His strength—gone.
His life—ebbing away.
But what hurt the most—
Was the regret.
He had failed to stop Fugaku.
He had failed to protect the peace of Konoha.
And now—
It was over.
Uchiha Shisui was dead.
