Inside the same run-down inn as his first visit, Monty sat at the same table, but this time he had company. His appearance was much different from before; his true self was unrecognizable to all who were present. Raven, Aria, Mel, and Regalia, all four, were enough deterrent for anyone to approach them; even so, the same amber-haired maid from before approached them at their table.
His eyes were stuck on her form, it wasn't too imposing, and yet somehow the woman had his undivided attention. But it wasn't her sex appeal and the scanty clothes that drew him, but it was something else entirely–something, Raven and the others caught up in an instant. However, even though the hero noticed Monty staring at her, he waited for the maid to be gone with their order to bring up the topic.
"She's clad in glamour–that's not how she really looks…" Upon hearing those words, Monty blinked a few times and looked at Raven, squinting. "It's the same magic that we use to change our appearance. The same subset of magic that allows you to use that charm the Mistress gave you to alter your appearance."
"You mean, she's…" Cringing a little, Monty sank into his chair.
"Well…" Drawing attention to her while looking back at the maid walking away, still, Mel decided to add. "I doubt she looks awful without it, but it definitely helps their business to have her appear as a hooker."
Turning back around to face the youngster, Mel moved a hand in the middle of the table and conjured a flood of green-hued mana in her hand. Slowly taking form, it started to turn into what the girl's real appearance should've been without the glamour.
"Since you can't see her true self, lemme show you." And so she did, but to the surprise of them all, instead of a hideous witch, the girl was just as charming as she was with magic, but without the sultry charm, of course. "What the hell? She's just using a change of clothes, essentially. I wonder why?"
"Or someone is casting the magic on her," Aria added.
"Why are we even talking about this random girl?" Too eager to meet the giants, Regalia couldn't care less about the topic. Shrugging her shoulders, she stared at Monty and declared. "Fuck it, I'll hire her for you kid. Go ask her all the questions you want yourself."
"Now don't tell me you're a squeamish virgin…" Rolling her eyes, Regalia turned to look at the maid and waved her to come closer. "Either way, I don't wanna see her or you until this visit's over."
"I'm not a virgin, you idiot, but–" trying to keep his voice lowered, Monty tried to speak up for himself, but before he could really get to defending himself, the maid's footsteps halted his words.
"Yes, madam? Do you need anything else?" Knowing full well that these were the guests of their monarchs, the maids showed Regalia proper respect through words and an upright form.
"Not me but…" Pointing at Monty, Regalia gestured for the maid to take him upstairs. "I'm gonna pay you ten times your usual change, just keep the boy company for the rest of the day and even during nighttime. I don't want him leaving that room, and I want him gone with you, this instance."
The girl's eyes widened as much as Monty's. Although the spy had worked for the Mistress and had had his fair share of practice with women, to do such a thing with someone his heart pounds for, well…it wasn't an easy task and his mind was not yet prepared.
"I-if you say so, madam, but I'm new and well." Gulping, the girl fidgeted about with a tray clenched by her hips.
"What?!" Feeling frustrated, Regalia slammed a fist on the table.
The girl jumped in response, and so did Monty, but the others were far too used to loud noises and bangs to flinch even for a second.
"I'm a virgin, and well, the owner charges extra for the first time and since nobody has picked me, ten times the virgin amount would be…"
Reaching into her waist belt, Regalia undid her coin purse and slammed it on the table. The girl jumped once more, but the jungle of coins quickly drew her attention. A bag so heavy, a bag so full, she'd never seen it before in her life, and when she turned to look at its owner, what came out of her mouth next nearly had the girl fainting.
"Two hundred and fifty gold coins. Fuck it, sounds like you're a slave. Give this to your owner once you're done with the boy. Buy your freedom or do whatever the fuck you want, I just want this to be over with!"
While the girl remained stunned at the mere mention of such a sum, the jingle of the coin purse had drawn out a fat lady from the kitchen, the very same who owned the joint. She'd heard most of what Regalia was screaming about, and noticing the coin purse, she didn't wait a second to grab that thing with a nasty smile. Cackling with a bucktooth smile while everyone stared at her, she turned to her slave and slapped her on the shoulder.
"What are you waiting for! Take the man upstairs and look after him for the day! You'll be free tomorrow, now go before I change my mind!" Hissing in pain, the girl turned to where she felt Monty's presence.
Her expression contorted with fear and reservation, she hesitantly held her hand forward and urged him to follow her.
"Y-yes master Oldah…" Nodding at the spy, she moved around the table and grabbed his hand by herself. Just as hesitant as her, however, Monty didn't feel comfortable, but then again, the thought that the girl would be free if she spent this night with him made him comply with her.
'Regalia, what the hell have you shoved me into?' He thought while being escorted upstairs, all the while, deep in his heart, he promised himself to only talk to the girl and not do anything to make her uncomfortable.
But what happens next behind closed doors? Who could say? Not that Regalia cared, especially since a pair of soldiers came to get them not long after the incident.
