Netori: Stealing The Hero's Party! Chapter 661

When Regalia finally stepped in front of the giant monarchs, her temper rose and had it not been for Mel's vines holding her back, she would've unleashed hell upon the king and the queen of this land. Even now, through gritted teeth and struggles, she wolfed at the giants and screamed in retaliation.

"FUCKING CORWARDS! WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU WHEN OUR KING DIED?! WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU WHEN HIS KINGDOM NEARLY FELL TO THE FLOOR?!" Tearing through the vines, Regalia managed to walk a few steps forward, only to be held back again by necrotic arms emerging from the ground thanks to Aria's abilities. For a spell, she looked around and growled at her own people, but focusing her anger on the giants again, she screamed out loud. "IF YOU'RE MEANT TO RULE THEN WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU, FILTHY CORWARDS!!"

Raising a hand, the quiet king finally spoke in retort.

"The mad king rallied the extinction of the steel dragons, of course, we wanted no part of such a ploy!" Even though her entire body was cast in the shade of the giant's thumb, the wolf broke free from her binds again, but this time, it was Raven who chained her down with elastic binds that could sustain any force that Regalia could produce.

"And what did you do?! Sit on your sorry asses and watch it happen, didn't you?!" Ignoring the binds altogether, the wolf kept on struggling. Her eyes bloodshot, she wanted revenge on these people whom she'd never even met. "The steel dragons are the reason this land is a fucking desert or did you forget?!"

Raising the opposing hand to the king, the veiled queen decided to speak up.

"And we're grateful for his purge, but that doesn't mean we have to save his land in return."

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!" Screaming to her heart's content, Regalia dragged herself closer and closer to the giants before being sling-shotted behind her group. Hitting the tiles, with her body taking the entire blow, everyone expected her to have lost consciousness, but being stubborn, she yelled again. "UNHAND ME, I'LL KILL THESE MOTHERFUCKERS MYSELF! IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN YOU COWARDS WERE HERE I WOULD'VE GUTTED YOU A LONG TIME AGO!"

In the wolf's mind, anything and anyone was better than Mono. And given her ancestry of sworn warriors to the king, his lineage and his people, she couldn't have been more disappointed by what she was met with upon running into others of his race.

That thought finally helped her calm down a little. Lying in that pit that she'd caused in the tiles, she stared, panting at the ceiling with a hand slowly stretching outwards.

"With a greatsword, he protected his people. Even in his last moments, he tried to hunt down the monsters that had plagued us, his subjects. If only…if only his knees hadn't given up, if only his body hadn't aged so poorly, maybe he would–" With a tear in her eyes, Regalia took a deep gulp and swallowed her next words. Instead, opening her eyes again, she took a deep breath and whispered. "I won't stand here and let you judge him for what needed to be done."

Lifting her head, she glared at the giants again.

"You chameleons wouldn't be alive if it weren't for him, so before you speak another word, I want you to take your time and weigh them against your own inaction during who knows how many long years, you filthy hermits."

"Can tame your mutt, we'd like to converse with you about some important matters," the queen said to Raven.

And although he didn't like the way she referred to Regalia, it was clear that with her present in the room, they couldn't get anywhere. Thus glancing over at Amedith and Liliyana, both of whom had just joined them in a tiny form, Raven urged them to shift Regalia and take her outside for a few minutes.

"Fine, but I wanna know what happened here once this is over," Amedith said, drawing the attention of the giants with his voice.

A bit curious, even after the wolf girl was taken away, the monarchs wanted to ask some questions, but before they uttered even a word, Raven presented his own conditions about this whole ordeal. Lifting one finger, he started.

"You call one of my girls or associate a mutt or anything like that again, and we're gonna have a problem."

"And you did not have a problem with her cursing us out?" Retorted the king.

"From the sound of it and the state of your blinded citizens, I would say it's your own fault for being such losers on a giant seat that you call a throne. Even your castle looks like it will fall."

"Enough!" The queen exclaimed, slamming a massive dark wand that she'd just picked up from the table next to her. "We can insult each other all day, but that won't help either of our causes."

"And what is your cause?" Walking beside Raven, Aria crossed her arms and glared at the mouthy giants. "You've done nothing so far, just sat here twiddling thumbs, and now that you have a problem, you want an outsider to get involved. Is that a good enough read, her majesty and him?"

Both the giants clicked their tongues in frustration. They'd been bested in more ways than one.

"Fine, we need your help. But I have something from the Nightlord that your goddess needs." The mention of Murdok finally drew some genuine interest from the party. Stepping forward with a curious look, Raven stretched his hand forward and asked for the item.

"Then hand it to me and we'll do what you want unless it's some attempt at sabotage by your god, Asmareth."

"Not so quick, but before you get upset…" Looking to her husband, the queen awaited his nod. Staring back at her for a moment, the king seemed hesitant for some reason, but in the end gave her his permission. "We're open to accepting Aphrodite as our goddess and abandoning that good-for-nothing pretender, but only if you can do what we need you to!"

"Now you've got my interest…" Eager to know why they were so eager to abandon their god, Raven crossed his arms and stood firmly before the monarchs with a smile. "Go on, I'm waiting."

And thus marked the start of a brittle alliance, but will it strengthen moving forward or be shattered as tension breaks amongst them all? There's much time before the party had to find out, as the task given to them was unlike any hurdle they've ever crossed.
