New Star In Marvel Chapter 143

The file on SCP-3396 was nearly unreadable in terms of traditional science. No physical analysis could be performed, and when the Foundation used thaumaturgical scanners, they didn't return numbers or regular patterns.

Instead, every scan gave only one thing—a single word: Prosperity. Strangely, this word changed languages every time, making the meaning even more obscure.

The Overseer shook her head and sighed. "We can't communicate with SCP-3396. We can't eliminate its effects. We're completely in the dark."

James leaned forward slightly, frowning. "So what now?"

The Overseer turned to face him, her expression tight. "James, you still don't understand the gravity of this situation."

Her voice sharpened. "Just this past month, we lost two entire Foundation sites. And we also lost two elite mobile task forces: Eta-5 and Phi-2!"

James was stunned. "They're… gone?"

The Overseer nodded grimly. "Eta-5 was nearly wiped out after confronting a living mountain formed from SCP-3396's energy. Details beyond that are missing."

James took a breath. "And Phi-2?"

After a long pause, the Overseer muttered, "One member died. The rest… defected."

The silence in the global live broadcast room was deafening. Then came the flood of reactions:

> "Wait, what?! A whole task force went rogue?"

"Has the Foundation really lost that much control?"

"SCP-3396 must be insanely dangerous."

"No wonder the Overseer is acting nervous."

"This isn't just about anomalies anymore…"

Agents watched the broadcast in disbelief. The Foundation, which was once considered near-unstoppable, was now clearly breaking apart at the seams.

Director Nick Fury stared intently at the footage. His mind kept circling back to one thing:

Why does the Overseer want James involved in something called "The Rebirth Plan"? What exactly is it?

---

The Overseer spoke again, recalling the beginning of the incident.

"SCP-3396 was uncovered during a routine archaeological dig. Within days, every researcher on the site became part of SCP-3396-01—an infected, anomalous subclass of humans—and unearthed the entire entity."

"Unfortunately, Foundation containment teams weren't informed in time. The infected returned to populated areas. That's how it started spreading."

James clenched his fists. "So it was a full breach from day one."

The Overseer continued. "We're now in a global containment race. We're tracking and detaining 3396-01 instances, and trying to secure Central SCP-3396. But other organizations are interfering."

Her tone turned sharp: "It's not just anomalies we're fighting anymore. It's other people."

James looked up. "How bad is the spread now?"

---

She didn't hesitate. "Despite our best countermeasures, SCP-3396 has altered global society."

"Uncontained 3396-01 individuals have started using their powers for a variety of purposes: from violent crimes and mass killings to public health miracles like curing terminal diseases."

The Overseer exhaled deeply. "Media remains under our control—for now—but the contamination is outpacing us."

"Major Groups of Interest—like the Global Occult Coalition, the Serpent's Hand, and others—are using 3396-01 for their own goals. They're even spreading the infection within their own ranks."

She stopped for a moment before giving the final warning:

> "If SCP-3396 breaches our control entirely, and we hit a TPK-class Thaumaturgical Proliferation Scenario…"

> "We will have to activate Emergency Protocol 3396-Alabaster. That means doing whatever it takes to preserve the surviving human population."

---

The live chat exploded again.

> "Wait, TPK?! Like Total Party Kill?"

"They're really considering something that extreme?"

"What the hell is Protocol Alabaster?"

"Just how dangerous is this anomaly?"

"Are we really looking at the end of civilization here?"

---

Back at S.H.I.E.L.D

Most agents looked lost and overwhelmed.

Why was SCP-3396 such a huge problem? It wasn't actively aggressive. It didn't blow up cities.

Why, then, was it such a threat to human civilization?

Nick Fury, however, understood.

He muttered under his breath: "Because this thing can create superhumans in bulk. It changes the world order. And once word spreads… even the gods will come down to get it."

In the Marvel Universe, even the most powerful civilizations—Asgard, the Celestials, the Kree Empire—would lose their minds over a containment that creates super-beings on demand.

It was no surprise that chaos was brewing.

And yet, Fury still couldn't shake one question:

> What role does James play in all of this?

---

On Screen

James fell silent, visibly deep in thought.

The Overseer leaned in, her voice cold and determined.

"The O5 Council is debating whether to expand Project Alabaster. If we can neutralize 3396 with this plan, we'll throw every resource we have into it."

But before she could continue, James interrupted:

"You want to herd civilians into camps and labs? That's a violation of every ethical line we've ever set."

The Overseer's gaze hardened.

> "Then we need to act now, or there may not be a future for humanity to save."

James said nothing.

The tension built.

Da. Da. Da.

The sound of knuckles tapping on the table echoed in the silence.

Then, clatter—James looked up.

> "Alright. What do you want me to do?"

The Overseer slid two items across the table:

—A folded list of names.

—A cold, black pistol.

She whispered:

> "I need you to be the Final Bell Ringer."

---

Reaction – Global & S.H.I.E.L.D

The live chat froze.

> "The Final Bell Ringer?? What does that even mean??"

"Wait—is this about a purge?"

"Is the Foundation killing its own people?"

At S.H.I.E.L.D., Natasha Romanoff narrowed her eyes.

"The Final Bell Ringer?" she repeated aloud. "This is worse than we thought."

Nick Fury didn't say a word.

But his mind pieced it together quickly.

> A list.

A gun.

One man.

The Foundation wasn't just planning containment. They were planning a reckoning.

But why James?

What did they expect him to do?

And above all…

What the hell is the Rebirth Plan?
