Rong Shaoze was taken aback; this was the first time she had shown weakness in front of him, the first time she had leaned on his shoulder.
A surge of tenderness filled his heart. He stroked her head gently and walked her back, "It’s okay now, don’t be scared. Rest assured, our child will be born safe and sound."
He thought she had been frightened.
Little did he know, she was overwhelmed with guilt and pain.
The fall had been no accident; it had been intentional...
