The man turned around, his previously smiling eyes instantly filled with malevolence, creating a very cold aura.
He pushed open the door to the lounge and saw a man held at knifepoint by Meiying, unable to move.
Rong Shaoze’s sinister gaze swept over him, landing on Xiaotian.
"He’s fine," Meiying said indifferently.
The man sighed in relief, stepping forward to pick up the child. Xiaotian giggled in his arms, completely oblivious to the danger that had just transpired.
An injector lay on the floor, containing a bit of transparent liquid—it was clear that it wasn’t something good.
Rong Shaoze held onto the child, but his formidable presence remained undiminished.
"Speak, who sent you here?" he asked coldly.
The waiter’s face showed no fear; he sneered, "Even if you kill me, I won’t say a word."
Rong Shaoze’s lips curled slightly, his eyes flashing with bloodthirsty malice.
"Trying to prove how tough you are in front of me? Let me tell you, now that you’re in my hands, you have no choice but to confess."
His calm tone carried an undeniable authority that sent chills down one’s spine.
The waiter felt a bit unnerved inside, but having prepared himself for death, he had nothing to fear.
Rong’s mother returned from the restroom, finding two black-clad bodyguards standing at the door to the lounge.
Rong’s mother was puzzled; there were none here earlier, why are they here now?
"Madam, Shaoze is inside handling important business. He said no one can go in right now," the bodyguard raised his hand to block her.
"What important business?"
"We don’t know either."
Rong’s mother thought for a moment and turned to the hall. Indeed, she couldn’t find Rong Shaoze, only Lin Xinlan sitting in her place.
She went over and sat down, asking Lin Xinlan, "Shaoze is talking to someone about something secretive."
Lin Xinlan’s eyes flashed with doubt, "I don’t know, he just went to take a call."
"I suspect something’s wrong. I’ll stay here, you go and check it out. Xiaotian is inside. What could be so important to discuss in front of the child?"
Lin Xinlan’s expression grew stern as she immediately stood up and left.
Rong Shaoze sat on the sofa, leisurely crossing his legs, his gaze sinister: "I’ll give you one last chance, if you don’t speak now, you might regret it later."
His faint threat made one’s legs tremble.
The waiter stubbornly refused to speak: "Just kill me then, I won’t say anything. I don’t know anything."
Rong Shaoze sneered, "You don’t know, then why did you target my son?"
"Obviously someone asked me to, but I don’t know who they are."
"You do have a hard mouth." Rong Shaoze had run out of patience and told Meiying, "Take him downstairs, make sure you get every word out of him."
Lin Xinlan reached the door, and the bodyguard gave her the same message as Rong’s mother.
Her suspicion grew, "Move aside, or I’ll scream!"
"Young Madam, please don’t make it difficult for us..."
"Move aside!" Lin Xinlan pushed them aside, grabbing the handle and forcefully opening the door, rushing in.
No one expected her to barge in; everyone inside froze for a moment.
The waiter seized the moment Meiying was distracted, letting a knife slip from his arm and swinging it at Meiying.
Meiying reacted quickly, dodging and landing a solid kick with his hard leather boots to the waiter’s knee. The waiter grunted and fell to his knees.
