Sophie Smith sat in the corner, like an invisible person, until someone uneasily approached her.
"Tell me, what’s your name?" Sophie looked up, discovering a pair of leering eyes staring at her. She hadn’t expected that in such a sorry state, someone would be interested in her.
"Sophie Smith." She said truthfully.
"Oh, Sophie Smith." The man suddenly understood and nodded, "Sunny introduced you here, right? She said you want to have an endorsement for products under my company?"
Sophie was hesitating on how to respond but noticed Asher Land’s gaze fixed on her, if she wasn’t mistaken, it was disdain and contempt.
But, why does he dare to look at her like that? Doesn’t he make her disdain him too? Heartless, treating women like playthings...
His list of sins is too numerous to count, so she wouldn’t be influenced by him or let him control her.
"Yes." Sophie answered earnestly.
Is that really her intention? Doesn’t she know, to achieve her goal, she needs to pay a certain price?
Is she really willing to give her body to another man besides him?
"I see..." The man nodded thoughtfully, "Since you’re quite good-looking, I might consider it."
The man’s large hand pinched her chin, forcing her to lift her head.
Sophie struggled silently and unintentionally saw Asher Land with a look as if watching a good show. Wicked, she was being flirted with by other men, yet he remained indifferent. It seemed he wouldn’t help her tonight.
The man’s hand grew more restless, in front of everyone, his large hand reached into her clothes.
Sophie couldn’t endure this humiliation anymore and pushed the man before her forcefully, dodging aside.
The man stumbled, nearly falling.
"Do you f***ing still want that endorsement or not?" The man fumed with anger, saying it as he violently grabbed her wrist and threw her into the corner of the private room.
Asher Land still just savored the glass of red wine, and Sophie suddenly felt a bit desperate.
However, now she had one choice, which was to voluntarily ’seek refuge’ with Asher Land. Anyone with insight could see that Asher Land was the most powerful person present, only he could protect her, moreover, he—he was her first man, she didn’t want other men to touch her anymore, that would only make her feel dirtier...

"So, Miss Smith is President Land’s woman!" The man chuckled awkwardly; it seemed he couldn’t have any more wild ideas.
"As long as you know." Asher Land wrapped his arm around her waist, ignoring the gazes of others, and walked out of the private room.
Just a couple minutes after leaving the room, Sophie started trying to escape Asher Land’s embrace.
"What, you want to turn your back so soon?" Asher Land sneered.
"There’s no one here now, so we don’t need to keep putting on a show, right?"
Put on a show? Does that mean their intimate moment just now was all an act?
