Sophie Smith’s body suddenly stiffened, she still couldn’t believe that these words actually came from Asher Land’s mouth.
After a long while, Sophie pushed him away.

"I feel a bit of a headache." She tried to muster a smile, but it appeared so forced.
"Alright, I’ll call the doctor over right away."
Watching Asher’s departing figure, she didn’t know why her eyes felt a sting, she tried hard to hold back the tears that were about to gush out, she seemed to increasingly crave the sense of security he brought her.
"Sophie Smith, stay clear-headed." She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath from within.
The chief doctor conducted a comprehensive body check on Sophie, her body was adorned with too many wounds during the medication change, she could see Asher’s tall body trembling.
"Miss Smith, it’s best not to leave bed for at least a few days, make sure to rest well," the doctor advised.
Unable to get out of bed? Wouldn’t that mean she couldn’t take care of herself?
"I haven’t lost my limbs, I’m in good health, I can..."
"Silence." Asher made a gesture to stop, "The doctor said you shouldn’t leave the bed, so don’t, understood?"
"No more ’buts’, do you dare not listen to me?"
What was up with him, damn Asher Land, she’s still a patient now, and he started thinking about oppressing her as soon as she woke up, didn’t he?
Domineering, inhumane! Sophie cursed him harshly in her heart.
What she was thinking now, he knew through her expressions.
"Don’t sneakily curse me in your heart, you can curse me openly." He said with a smile that doesn’t reach his eyes.
"Asher Land, you bastard!" She blurted out.
"Able to curse, seems like your health is good, however, if you curse one more time, I’ll make you stay in bed one more day."

Sophie wisely shut her mouth, she seemed like she was sulking with him, lying on the bed, turning her back to him, no longer paying him any attention.
Considering she is a patient, he decided not to mind her today. Asher generously forgave her, in his opinion.
Even though she woke up, he stayed in the ward.
Perhaps due to the medication, Sophie began to feel drowsy, she closed her eyes, not long after, steady breathing sounds could be heard.
Asher walked to the bed, gradually crouching his tall frame.
He didn’t understand why he started to care for a woman since he was seventeen he decided to sever all ties with emotions.
Because he knew that it wasn’t a good thing, it could become your tether, your difficulty to let go, eventually, a binding.
He looked at Sophie sleeping soundly on the bed, shook his head, stood up, walked to the window, his silhouette somewhat lonely.
He took out a cigarette, just lit it up, as if remembering something, immediately extinguished it.
He sniffed gently as if there was still a hint of smoke in the room, hence he hurriedly opened the window.
When he subconsciously completed this series of actions, he couldn’t help but sigh, what’s happening to him?
