Early in the morning, Irene Morton knocked on Asher Land’s door.
Sophie Smith was just about to get up, but Asher Land’s large hand pressed her back down.
"Who is so inconsiderate, disturbing people’s dreams early in the morning." Asher Land kept his eyes closed, already in a bad mood.
"Brother Asher, the sun is already high up, isn’t it time for you and Sister Sophie to get up!" Outside the door, Irene called out energetically. The maids walked past her, seemingly accustomed to their young master’s habits. Aside from work, Asher Land usually slept in.
Hearing Irene’s voice, Asher Land suddenly opened his eyes, put on a robe, and headed for the door.
Sophie Smith chuckled self-mockingly, it seemed that Irene held quite a significant place in his heart.
"Brother Asher, it’s breakfast time." As soon as he opened the door, he was greeted with Irene’s big smile.
"I’m a bit tired, I want to sleep a bit more, you eat first."
"Tired? Could it be that you were too vigorous last night, and now you’re exhausted? It’s fine if you’re tired, but tiring Sister Sophie to the point she can’t get out of bed is your fault."
Asher Land’s mouth twitched; this girl, her tongue was getting sharper and sharper.
"Irene, watch how you speak."
Honestly, Irene didn’t like the way Asher Land talked to her, his tone was like that of an adult talking to a child, but she was not a child anymore, okay?
"Brother Asher, hurry and get up, I’m not familiar with Eastern City, you have to take me around today."
Seeing her expectant eyes, he couldn’t bear to refuse and nodded in agreement.
"Alright, I’ll wait for you downstairs, be quick!"
Asher Land grunted, then closed the door.
"I’m going to accompany Irene around Eastern City today, do you want to come?" Asher Land said to Sophie Smith, who was changing clothes.
"No need, you guys go ahead, I have some business at the company today."
Going to the company was just her excuse, she thought if she went with them, she might just end up being a third wheel.
Asher Land didn’t say much else, he got dressed and went downstairs.
She didn’t know how long had passed when she heard the sound of the car starting, Asher Land drove off with Irene, leaving the Land Family villa.
Only then did she go downstairs.
"Miss Smith, why aren’t you going out with the young master?" Nanny Garcia approached and asked.
"Oh, I have my own things to attend to today, it’s not convenient."
She casually had breakfast but didn’t know where to go, after all, the media was hot on her trail because of Wyatt Sterling, if she went out, she would probably be caught. But if she didn’t go out, wouldn’t her excuse fall apart?
After thinking it over, she decided to go out.
She called Eva Miller; she hadn’t seen her since the kidnapping incident.
Eva Miller arranged to meet her at a hotel, two women booking a room did seem a bit strange, but she and Eva couldn’t exactly meet in a public place.
She was now an actress, someone who might be recognized walking down the street, so she had to be very careful, but she realized she didn’t quite life now.
Initially, she just wanted to focus on acting, to be an excellent actress, but the reality was, since her first day in the industry, her dreams had already veered off course.
She would never forget how she got her first role in life; it was only through a transaction of her body.
If one day, her past was dug up by the media, and the world knew she was just the mistress kept by Eastern City’s richest man, what would happen then?
