Sophie Smith lost her balance, as Asher Land forcibly dragged her into the bathroom.
He swiftly shut the door and pressed her against the cold wall.
Water poured down from above, drenching Sophie Smith’s hair and her delicate silk nightgown.
"Asher Land, are you insane!" She was just showing a bit of concern, and he treated her !
Her small fists pounded against his chest wildly. She suddenly looked up, only to find Asher Land gazing at her with hungry eyes.
"You, don’t do anything crazy!" She pushed against his chest, resisting his further advances.
Every action, every expression of hers was an irresistible temptation for him.
He lowered his head and fiercely captured her soft lips.
The room was filled with enticing allure.
Sophie Smith sat on the bed wrapped in a blanket, unable to stop sneezing.
Damn Asher Land, if she had known, she wouldn’t have knocked on that door. It wouldn’t have mattered even if he died in the bathroom.
"Achoo!" Sophie sneezed again just as Asher Land walked into the room and seeing her , he couldn’t help but laugh.
Sophie Smith gave him an annoyed look, and seeing his gloating expression, she hurled a pillow at him.
Asher Land extended his long arm, catching the flying pillow firmly.
"Trying to murder me?"
He tossed the pillow onto the bed and sat down, pulling her into his arms.
"Asher Land, you’re a pervert! Shameless! You bastard!" Sophie was still upset about what he did in the bathroom.
"Alright, whatever you say, as long as you’re happy, it doesn’t matter." He acted magnanimously.
Sophie was left speechless. She knew she couldn’t win against Asher Land, so she thought it best to be less angry.
Irene Morton knocked on the door, holding a bowl of ginger soup.
"Nanny Garcia said someone caught a cold. Who was it?" Irene Morton’s almond eyes assessed the pair on the bed.
The ginger soup was specifically ordered by Asher Land for Nanny Garcia to prepare, but Irene Morton ended up delivering it.
With a quick glance between the two, Irene Morton understood.
Asher Land looked lively, while Sophie Smith seemed listless. She naturally knew who the ginger soup was for.
"Sister Sophie, two hours ago you were fine, how did you end up ?"
Sophie remained silent, the matter was indeed hard to put into words.
Irene Morton set down the ginger soup and walked to the bedside.
"Brother Asher, you bullied Sister Sophie again, didn’t you?" Irene Morton said knowingly.
"Irene, don’t say nonsense."
It seemed like a certain man wanted to conceal his ’massive crime’.
"Oh, remember to attend the gala tomorrow night on time. I’ll have Robert Williams come pick you up." Asher Land changed the subject since he, being the organizer of the Golden Era Gala, definitely wouldn’t have time to come and pick her up himself.
"Also, someone will deliver several gowns of different styles tomorrow. Try them on and pick the one you like."
Asher Land seemed to have everything arranged perfectly, just waiting for her to show up glamorously.
Sophie and Irene exchanged a glance, each with their own thoughts.
They had already decided she wouldn’t attend the gala, as Irene would be Asher Land’s companion.
However, they both weren’t planning to disclose this just yet.
"Did you hear what I said?" Seeing Sophie’s lack of reaction, Asher Land reiterated.
"Oh." Sophie replied nonchalantly.
She truly didn’t know what might happen tomorrow, her heart suddenly filled with unease.
Irene Morton stayed by the bedside, chatting with Sophie, and Asher Land’s handsome face started to show displeasure.
"We should get some sleep." He issued an expulsion order to Irene Morton.
