Sophie Smith nodded in agreement.
Robert Williams helped Asher Land into the upstairs bathroom, with Sophie following closely behind.
Irene Morton also wanted to follow, but was stopped by Nanny Garcia.
"Miss Irene, it’s not appropriate for you to go up," Nanny Garcia said earnestly.
"Why not? Brother Asher is so drunk, I just want to help," Irene was clearly displeased. Everyone knew for whom Asher drank like that.
"Miss Irene, men and women shouldn’t be in such close contact," Nanny Garcia, being older, had somewhat conservative thoughts.
"You..." Irene was momentarily left speechless.
Sophie closed the bathroom door; the servants had already prepared a comfortable hot bath. Asher’s tall body leaned heavily on her shoulder, making it hard for her to stand steady.
She helped him take off the heavy suit jacket, and accidentally, a mix of cigarette, alcohol, and a woman’s perfume smell hit her nose, causing her to frown.
Did he find some other woman to cheer him up last night?
A nameless anger surged in her heart. She wanted to push him away forcefully, but the body pressing on her was too solid for her to move.
"Do you hate me that much?"
Suddenly, his voice came from above her head. She was first startled, then looked up in surprise to find his eyes still closed, appearing to be merely babbling in a drunken stupor.
"Tell me, do you hate me!" He pushed her away, leaning against the wall, eyes closed, slowly squatting down.
Sophie was taken aback, unable to react for a long moment.
She scrutinized his handsome face; his sharply defined features bore an air of coldness, yet now, he had no power to attack.
She unbuttoned his shirt, button by button. He seemed to sense something and forcefully pressed her body onto the cold floor.
"Asher Land, stop going crazy, let me go!"
He couldn’t hear any of it clearly; he only felt a soft body inadvertently stirring his desire, unable to control himself, he kissed her heavily, with no skill at all.
"Mmm... Asher Land, let go, let me go!"
The heat in the bathroom was overwhelming; outside, people exchanged awkward glances.
No one knew what the young master and Miss Smith were doing inside, but no one dared to go in.
Irene was so angry she stomped her foot, but neither Nanny Garcia nor Robert would let her in, so she pouted and ran to her room.
Sophie was almost taken advantage of by Asher before managing to finish bathing him.
Damn it, was he deliberately getting back at her? Looking at herself completely soaked, Sophie’s brows furrowed.
Asher lay on the soft bed, turning over.
He held his head; it was a piercing pain, like termites gnawing.
A sudden wave of nausea from his stomach made him sit up, stumbling towards the bathroom.
As he pushed open the door, his gaze collided with Sophie’s somewhat startled eyes.
She was clutching her slipping towel with one hand and holding a hairdryer with the other; her long hair was wet and dripping water...
"You, you go out first!"
Sophie looked towards the door, a bit awkward.
He stood there, with no intention of moving.
If it weren’t for him being unruly while she bathed him, she wouldn’t be in this embarrassing state now.
He shook his head, suppressing the turmoil inside, and slowly approached her.
