"Alright, I’ll have Robert come to the office to pick you up at noon."
"What do you want to do? I..."
Before she could finish, Boss Land hung up the phone.
"Can’t he just talk things over properly?" Sophie Smith tossed her phone into her bag, not knowing what he really wanted.
Around noon, before Sophie had a chance to eat, Robert found her.
"Miss Smith, President Land is waiting for you."
So what if he is waiting? She still needs to finish her meal first. It’s not like it’s a big deal, can’t it wait until she’s full?
Robert didn’t know what to do, after all, it was Sophie that his big boss was waiting for, and he couldn’t afford to offend her.
With no other choice, he stepped aside and called Asher Land.
"President Land, Miss Smith hasn’t finished her meal yet. She said she’ll come see you after eating." Robert reported truthfully.
"But your flight is at one in the afternoon, I’m afraid you won’t have enough time."
"Just reschedule it."
Robert stood aside, watching Sophie eating her lunch unhurriedly, and his heart was filled with shock.
He had been with Asher Land for at least ten years and had never seen his boss be so accommodating to anyone or anything. Yet, he had such a keen interest in this Miss Smith.
"Miss Smith, have you finished eating?" Seeing Sophie get up, Robert quickly walked up and asked.
"Yes." Sophie responded lightly and got into Robert’s car.
She was puzzled, not knowing where Robert was driving the car to. Feeling a bit tired, she leaned her head against the car window and rested.
After about forty minutes, Robert woke her up.
"Why have we arrived at the airport?" Sophie surveyed the area with a puzzled look, "What are you bringing me here for?"
"Miss Smith, no need to ask so much. President Land is waiting for you in the VIP lounge, please go quickly."
Sophie, with a sense of bewilderment, followed Robert into the lounge, where Asher Land was sitting on the sofa, flipping through a magazine with one hand.
"President Land, Miss Smith is here."
Asher Land lifted his gaze slightly without saying much. Instead, Sophie couldn’t help but ask.
"What do you want me here for? Hurry up, I have something else this afternoon."
"I want you to accompany me to Italy."
"What?" Sophie refused immediately without thinking, "I’m scheduled to do a lot of appearances lately, I don’t have time."
"How much money are those appearances making you? I’ll give you ten times that."
This isn’t about the money at all, it’s about an artist’s credibility!
"All those appearances were scheduled by Sunny, if I change it, many aspects will be affected."
"Is that so?" He raised an eyebrow and signaled to Robert, "Get me Sunny’s phone number."
Robert immediately dialed Sunny’s number and handed the phone to Asher Land.
Even without the speakerphone on, Sophie vaguely heard Sunny’s excited voice on the other end.
"Cancel all of Sophie Smith’s recent appearances and schedules." He spoke lightly.
"Okay, no problem, if President Land says to cancel, we cancel." From the other end, Sunny’s unprincipled voice was clearly heard by Sophie. How could she do this?
She quickly took the phone from his hand and walked aside.
"Sunny, my schedule can’t be canceled." She said in a low voice.
"My dear, you just accompany President Land well, what schedule do you need? As long as President Land is happy, I can even schedule you until next year!"
