"You’ve grown bolder, haven’t you?" He curled his lips slightly, but his eyes were chillingly cold.
He walked slowly toward her, and Sophie instinctively stepped back.
He reached out and gripped her wrist, his strength frightening, causing Sophie to frown uncontrollably.
"Young master, please forgive Miss Smith." Nanny Garcia stood by, pleading, "She didn’t mean it. You’re hurting her doing this." Worry was etched across Nanny Garcia’s face.
She hadn’t expected that Sophie would actually hit the young master today. Usually, the two of them would bicker, but it would end with some sulking. Who would have thought it would escalate to such a tense situation today? But, who could be blamed for this? Isn’t this all a result of his own indulgence?
He looked at her increasingly pale face, the corners of his mouth tugging into a cold sneer.
Sophie felt as if her bones were going to crack under his grip, but she refused to beg for mercy.
Nanny Garcia was anxiously pacing beside them, her eyes darting to the door, where a man in a white coat walked in.
"Young master, Doctor Lewis is here. Please let go of Miss Smith."
Unaware of the situation, Doctor Lewis noticed everyone in the living room hanging their heads, feeling something strange.
He saw Asher Land’s swollen lips, with traces of blood, assuming he was the one injured.
"Mr. Land, please sit down. Let me reduce the swelling for you." Doctor Lewis was about to approach, but Asher Land’s piercing gaze intimidated him.
"I’m fine." He said indifferently, using his large hands to lift Sophie and head upstairs.
"Doctor Lewis, please wait a moment. It’s Miss Smith who’s injured. I’ll go up and change her clothes; you can come up later." Nanny Garcia advised Doctor Lewis before hurrying to follow Asher Land.
In Asher Land’s arms, Sophie still tried to struggle, but no matter how much she fought, she couldn’t escape his embrace.
"You move one more time, and I’ll throw you on the ground," he threatened, word by word.
"Asher Land, I wouldn’t mind if you threw me down from the second floor."
Asher Land’s mouth twitched. Damn it, whose fault was this anyway? She slapped him and yet remained so arrogant? If not for her sprained ankle, he could have...
He carried her into the bathroom, with Nanny Garcia close behind.
"Young master, please take a shower too. I will take care of Miss Smith."
Asher Land gave a cold snort, turned around, and walked out without even glancing back.
Sophie felt both upset and annoyed. Today, without understanding anything, he’d injured Wyatt Sterling so heavily, and upon returning home, he spoke such humiliating words in front of the servants...

Nanny Garcia, of course, noticed the resentment in Sophie’s eyes. Their young master and Miss Smith were alike in one aspect: both were unyieldingly stubborn, neither willing to concede.
"Nanny Garcia, if you’re here to speak on his behalf, save it. I don’t want to hear." Sophie interrupted before Nanny Garcia could speak.
"Miss Smith, even if you don’t want to hear, I must speak." Nanny Garcia sighed heavily, "From now on, don’t be so impulsive. Luckily, the young master didn’t say much today. That slap of yours was harsh; no one else in Eastern City would dare do that..."
"Didn’t you hear what he said? What gave him the right to insult me?" Sophie said, with some grievance in her eyes.
