Though Asher Land’s back wounds had been medicated and bandaged, there was still one wound that was quite hidden and yet to be treated.
Doctor Lewis was stunned, unsure how to explain it to Asher Land. He glanced at Sophie Smith, feeling a bit awkward.

As the seconds ticked by, Sophie had no choice but to speak up bravely.

Sophie completed the task of applying the medication for Asher Land with a face red from embarrassment. Her hand gently passed over "that" area, which was enough to set Asher on fire.
If not for his injuries, he would surely have pinned her beneath him, loving her thoroughly.
At the thought of this, a wave of sadness washed over him. How long would it be before he could touch her?
Sophie naturally sensed his mischief and, without hesitation, applied more force.
"Hiss..." He almost jumped up from the pain. "Sophie, are you trying to murder your man?" he gritted through his teeth.
"I’m just reminding you that you’re a patient now, so watch your limits."
"Of course, your happiness in the second half of your life depends on me. How could I let you be a widow?" he joked.
Sophie was speechless. How could this man be so glib?
It seemed that between them, they had returned to an unprecedented state—where her life consisted only of him.
Nathan Land’s arrival with the entire family seemed like a dream, coming and going in a hurry. When the dream was over, they opened their eyes, and there was only each other.
The unpleasantness from a few hours ago was gradually fading. After Sophie finished applying medication to Asher, she ran to the kitchen, instructing Nanny Garcia to make some nourishing food.
