Asher Land exerted a lot of effort just to finish bathing Sophie Smith. This was perhaps the umpteenth time he had done it, but without a doubt, today was the hardest because she hadn’t behaved for even a second.
He carried her to the bed, and she clung tightly to his hand, refusing to let him leave.
So, he lay down beside her.
When Sophie woke up, it was already evening. She walked barefoot off the bed, wondering how she ended up back at the Land Family’s home.
There were still some remnants of memories from before she got drunk. She remembered going to Eva Miller’s house and drinking lots and lots of alcohol there, and then... she remembered nothing.
She carefully opened the door, peeking out to survey the surroundings.
The hallway was quiet, with no one passing by.

The more she thought, the more unsettled she became, and as she was pondering, Asher Land unexpectedly walked over.
For some reason, her heart panicked, and she took a few steps back.
Asher was slightly surprised to see her standing at the door. She was so drunk that he thought she wouldn’t wake up tonight.
"Are you feeling better?" he asked.
"Much, much better." Her face felt a bit hot. Actually, she really wanted to know what happened, but when she saw Asher, she just couldn’t ask.
Seeing her awake, Asher personally ran downstairs to bring up a bowl of hangover soup that Nanny Garcia had cooked.
"Here." He handed her the hangover soup.
Sophie drank the soup while contemplating Asher’s thoughts. That night on his birthday, they had a falling out. When she left the Land Family’s home that morning, they were still arguing, but now, he didn’t seem angry with her. So, what really happened between them when she was drunk?
"Did I say anything I shouldn’t have while I was drunk..." She couldn’t hold back and asked, but her voice was very small. Nonetheless, Asher still heard her clearly.
"Oh, you didn’t say anything you shouldn’t have." He pretended to be nonchalant.
"That’s good..." Sophie took a deep breath, but before she could fully relax, Asher’s voice sounded again.
"You just said why I stripped off your clothes and dumped you on the bed but didn’t want you. You said you actually really wanted to be with me." He spoke half the truth, mixed with half a lie.
What? Did she really say that? Didn’t she just lose all her dignity?
Sophie’s face instantly turned red, almost choking on the hangover soup.
Asher was very pleased with her reaction. He left the room and turned to walk away.
Sophie paced back and forth in the room. Oh my god, why did she drink so much? How could she say something so shameless? Her guts twisted with regret.
She buried herself completely under the blankets, her face felt like it was on fire.
She was sure that in the future, she wouldn’t be able to confidently reject him on the bed. If he brought this matter up again, wouldn’t she appear hypocritical?
"Sophie Smith, you are simply too embarrassing! So embarrassing!"
