She was waiting for the day when he would get bored of playing with her, but that day seemed so far, out of reach.
She didn't even know what she did to provoke him last night, yet he treated her so brutally.
Their relationship was really strange; every time she hoped that after seriously angering him, he would tell her to 'get out,' but he never did. If things didn't go his way, it would just lead him to torment her even more aggressively.
Clothes were scattered messily on the floor, and Sophie struggled to sit up, getting off the bed to pick them up one by one.
Asher Land emerged from the bathroom, happening to catch this scene.
She looked as if she was in great pain, unable to walk with large strides, and she couldn't help but furrow her brows when bending down to pick up clothes.

Just as Sophie was about to pick up another piece of clothing, she noticed Asher standing nearby, and as if in defiance, she straightened her back and turned away from him, not sparing him a glance.

Sophie really felt the urge to kick him, but she was so unsteady even in her steps now that she didn't have the strength to kick him.
"Asher Land, I hate you," Sophie said through gritted teeth.
"I've known for a long time, no need to emphasize it again," he appeared nonchalant, "I'm numb to what you say."
Indeed, what could she do besides saying it? She had no power to oppose him, it was just her overestimating herself.
Sophie wisely stayed silent as Asher reached out intending to pull her to his side, only to be pushed away forcefully by her.
Unfortunately, it happened to hit his injured hand.
The white bandage on his hand was stained with a splash of red due to the wound splitting open.
Sophie was somewhat flustered; she didn't expect her strength to suddenly become so great.
She was a bit dazed, not knowing what to say. She didn't want to apologize to him; doing so would render her resistance today powerless.
Asher didn't mind, such a minor injury was nothing to him.
"Come here," he said to a still-distracted Sophie.
"For what?" She didn't want to approach him, not at all.
Without a word, he forcibly pulled her over. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't push him away this time.
He dragged her all the way to the bathroom.
"I want to take a shower."
He had actually wanted to shower early in the morning, but his hand couldn't get wet, so it fell to her to help.
"What does that have to do with me?" Sophie tried to flee, but she hadn't gotten far before he pulled her back again.
"Trying to escape?" His eyes flashed a dangerous glint, "I don't mind doing over what we did last night..."
Threats, more threats!
"However,..." he hesitated, "if you help me, I might consider letting you off for the next few nights."
Did she even have a choice? Did she?
Sophie hesitated, but ultimately she reached out her small hand, untying the bathrobe belt at his waist, her face already flushed with embarrassment.
