"Look down on you?" Wyatt Sterling let out a self-mocking laugh, "To be honest, when I first heard you were Asher Land’s woman, it didn’t sit well with me. But now I’ve figured it out. No matter whose woman you are, I, Wyatt Sterling, shouldn’t change my original intention towards you."
"Original intention?" Sophie Smith was a bit confused, "What is your original intention towards me?"
Wyatt Sterling smiled without saying a word, "That, you don’t need to know."
It wasn’t until a long time later that Sophie Smith realized what Wyatt Sterling meant by his original intention. It was love at first sight; he liked her from the first moment he saw her.
"Sophie!" A cold voice suddenly rang out. Sophie looked up in surprise to find Asher Land’s tall figure standing at the door, with a face full of anger.
"How did you know I was here?" Why did it feel like Asher Land was haunting her? Wherever she went, he would show up.
"You’re an artist under my company. Is it strange that I know your whereabouts?" Recently, she seemed to be getting close to Wyatt Sterling, which annoyed him a bit.
"You’re just a rookie actor. If you want to be famous, I can give you a chance. You don’t need to attach yourself to another man." Asher Land’s words carried undertones. Which eye of his saw that she wanted to attach herself to Wyatt Sterling? She only felt Asher Land’s words were a blatant insult to her.
"President Land, I think you misunderstood. Sophie didn’t mean that," Wyatt Sterling said.
"Come with me." Asher Land said in a commanding tone.
"I have something to do later, so I can’t go with you." For some reason, Sophie wanted to refuse Asher Land in front of Wyatt Sterling, maybe to prove she wasn’t a woman who obeyed Asher Land’s every command, finding a bit of ridiculous self-respect in it.
"No matter what you have to do, you must come with me now. Being Asher Land’s woman, I think you know I don’t like being refused." Asher Land made it very clear, Sophie Smith was his woman, she couldn’t refuse him.
She just hadn’t expected Asher Land would say these words in front of Wyatt Sterling. Although their relationship was no secret within the crew, it was the first time he had personally acknowledged it in front of others.
Sophie Smith gave Wyatt Sterling an awkward glance and stood frozen for a few seconds before turning and walking out. Her ridiculous self-respect ultimately surrendered to Asher Land’s dominance.
Wyatt Sterling stood at the door, fists clenched, watching her leave. There was nothing he could do, not even a single word to make her stay.
"Why did you say those things in front of Wyatt Sterling?"
"I said a lot of things, I’m not sure which one you’re referring to?" In fact, Asher Land knew perfectly well, he just didn’t point it out.
"Why did you say in front of Wyatt Sterling that I am your woman, Asher Land’s woman?"
"Two reasons. First, to make you realize your position. Second, just to declare sovereignty to Wyatt Sterling." He was utterly unabashed, but it still made Sophie feel unhappy.
"But did you ever consider my feelings when you said those things?" Sophie sneered, "You’re making others think I’m just a woman who clings to wealthy men, without a shred of self-respect."
