"I think you’ve got it wrong. This is my office, get out!" He pointed at the door, speaking to the woman hiding behind the man, and she fled in a panic without even having time to straighten her clothes.
"Look at you, you’ve just driven my woman away, and I wasn’t finished yet."
"You’re unbelievable. You can find as many women as you want, but mind the setting when you’re in heat." Asher Land replied irritably.
"Oh dear, my good little brother, that woman is an employee of your company. It’s proximity logic, you see? Going to a hotel is such a hassle, I was just borrowing your office for a bit."
A while ago, the headquarters sent word that Luke Land would be coming to Eastern City, but he hadn’t expected it to be so soon.
"Tell me, what did the old man want you to do here anyway?" For this idle second brother of his, he didn’t expect the old man sent him to Eastern City to assist him, nor did he believe he was here to learn from him.
"Just here to have some fun. Now that you’re ruling over Eastern City, can’t you let your brother bask in some glory too?" Luke Land shrugged, looking unconcerned, "By the way, where are you living? I’ll have someone send my luggage over later."
"Golden Era has so many hotels, you can stay in any one of them!"
"Little brother, that’s where you’re wrong, telling me to stay at a hotel? Do you have lots of women hidden at home, not to be seen?"
Luke Land put on a look of grievance, but Asher Land didn’t want to argue more with him and casually wrote an address from the desk for him.
"I don’t care about your partying lifestyle here, but you’d better not drag my name, Asher Land, into it."
He was well aware of this second brother’s habits, although he had reached thirty, he was not at all worry-free.
"Alright, I won’t." Luke Land took the address from the desk and walked out, "I need to go back and get some sleep, adjust my time zone."
Sophie Smith wasn’t sure if Asher Land would return here; although Asher Land had promised he would come back, after all, he’s a busy man, he might suddenly have a meeting or go see a client and not come back tonight.
Sophie felt like all her time and space were occupied by Asher Land, and thinking about it made her somewhat frustrated. She circled the large house but felt like something was missing.
The house felt cold and lifeless, neither of them had ever cooked, so the kitchen was spotless and the fridge was empty.
Sophie checked her watch, it was already past nine in the evening, she thought, Asher Land might not be coming, she should choose to fill her stomach instead of waiting here foolishly for him to return, she thought it wasn’t necessary for her to do that.
Usually, Asher Land took her to various high-end restaurants, she didn’t even know what home-cooked meals tasted like anymore. Suddenly, she missed the sweet and sour pork ribs and braised potatoes with pork from the school cafeteria.
Sophie changed clothes and decided to go out for a good meal.
She strolled along the street and finally chose a traditional Chinese restaurant.
The place was somewhat small, perhaps because the food there was delicious, it was surprisingly crowded, so Sophie had to settle for a leftover seat by the window.
She glanced at the menu and without hesitation ordered sweet and sour pork ribs and braised potatoes with pork.
"Right, owner, add a lotus root ribs soup and stir-fried broccoli."
