Sophie Smith couldn’t help but curse silently in her heart. She deliberately remained silent; she just wanted to oppose him.
She bit her lip tightly, enduring with great difficulty. Asher Land noticed this and increased his intensity. Clearly, they were doing the most intimate thing, yet for the two of them, it was like going to war.
One vowed to never give in, the other was determined to conquer.
This ’war’ lasted for almost two hours.
Sophie was utterly exhausted, and it was Asher Land who carried her into the bathroom.
She lay in the bathtub, closing her eyes wearily.
Later, in a daze, she felt someone washing her body. Even though she knew it was Asher Land, she was too tired, so she simply kept her eyes shut and let him do as he pleased.
She slept until the sun was high in the sky.
Sophie groaned, turned her body, and opened her beautiful eyes, only to see Asher Land standing not far away.
He had changed into a white shirt, his back to her, fastening his cufflinks.
Upon hearing her voice, he naturally turned around, a smile playing on his lips as he walked to the bedside.
Sophie thought he was up to something again, and quickly turned her body away.
"Don’t treat me with such avoidance." He sighed meaningfully. Damn it, every time they were together, it seemed like he was the only one enjoying it. He admitted he had been rough with her, but she had asked for it. If only she would cooperate...
"Did you hear me?" Seeing she didn’t respond, he reached out and pulled her up from the bed. Sophie wasn’t prepared, and the robe wrapped around her instantly fell open.
He stared hard at her body, which bore many marks from the night before. She must have been in pain.
Sophie glared at him, forcefully shook off his hand, and wrapped her robe tightly around herself.
Seeing her angry, he felt somewhat helpless.
"I wasn’t going to do anything to you. Physical intimacy is normal. Who told you to..."
"Normal?" Sophie sneered, her eyes full of disdain. "Are we normal?"
"It’s only normal to be with someone you love. To you, I’m just a target of your twisted desires." Her words hit him like stones, each one clear and precise.
His face darkened, and his tall frame trembled uncontrollably. He opened his mouth, but no words came out.
But who was Asher Land? How could he have a conscience because of her words and let her go?
"What a pity." His icy voice came from above her. "You’ll never have the chance to be with someone you love again."
Her body, from beginning to end, could only be his. She would never make him the fool again.
Sophie’s face turned pale, her body seemingly losing all strength as she collapsed onto the bed, her eyes filled with endless despair and pain.
Asher Land snorted coldly, slammed the door, and left.
She curled up her body, hugging her knees, and a tear fell without warning.
Suddenly, like she had gone mad, she got out of bed and swept all the plants and notebooks on the table to the ground. Her small body couldn’t stop trembling.
Asher Land hadn’t gone far and naturally heard the commotion inside from outside the door.
A self-deprecating smile played on his lips. He had overestimated himself. After all this time, he still hadn’t conquered her heart.
This struggle for dominance seemed destined to be a protracted war.
However, in his world, there was never failure.
