Official Career Storm Chapter 8

For Liang Jiajia, who always pursued justice, this was like adding fuel to the fire.

She pursed her lips, breathed heavily, and restrained her inner fury.

An elder police officer reprimanded, "Shut up!"

and then comforted, "Jiajia, don’t stoop to his level."

Liang Jiajia took a deep breath and stared at Song Guanchao, "The police will never wrong a good person, but neither will they let a bad person go! Whether you are wronged or not, we will investigate it."

"Uncle Liu, I need to go to the restroom."

Liang Jiajia turned and walked out, and the elder officer, somewhat worried, followed her.

Song Guanchao leaned back in his chair, looking completely composed.

This Liang Jiajia, her character is quite like Wu Yun’s—both are justice-minded.

However, she’s too young, too idealistic.

They don’t understand the complexities of bureaucracy or the darkness of human nature.

But such a naive girl is easy to deceive.

Song Guanchao smiled, suddenly feeling that being framed by Li Fuhai might be more of an advantage than a disadvantage.

The interrogation room door was suddenly pushed open with force, and a young police officer walked in.

His face stern, fury smoldering in his eyes, he stared at Song Guanchao.

He walked over and turned off the surveillance camera.

Seeing his actions, Song Guanchao narrowed his eyes.

With the surveillance turned off, the man came over to him, looming and asked, "I heard you just called Jiajia a ’connection-based hire’?"

Song Guanchao looked at him, silent.

The man’s gaze hardened, and he commanded, "Lower your head!"

Song Guanchao sneered, his eyes coldly meeting the man’s. Follow current novels on 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡·𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖·𝔫𝔢𝔱

The man felt a chill in his heart, as if a wild beast had locked eyes with him.

The fear deep inside him was drawn out by that look.

"Damn!" The man cursed, masking his own fear.

He was actually frightened by a suspect.

The man raised his hand and swung it at Song Guanchao’s face.

Song Guanchao dodged the slap and punched the man in the stomach.

The man doubled over, nearly vomiting his dinner.

He crouched on the ground, unable to stand up for a while.

"The police are beating people!"

Song Guanchao yelled out, then kicked over an iron chair and threw himself onto the ground.

Footsteps sounded from outside.

Liang Jiajia and the elder officer rushed in.

The man had just stood up and was about to kick Song Guanchao.

The two saw it all clearly.

"Fu Cheng, stop!" Liang Jiajia rushed forward and pushed Fu Cheng away.

She looked at Song Guanchao lying on the ground and the overturned iron chair, her brows deeply furrowed.

The elder police officer scolded, "Fu Cheng, what are you doing?"

Fu Cheng stood frozen until he saw Liang Jiajia helping Song Guanchao up; then he realized he’d been tricked.

His eyes blazing with anger, he felt the urge to tear Song Guanchao apart.

"Jiajia, I didn’t hit him. He laid down on the ground himself!"

"Moreover, he just attacked me—he assaulted an officer!"

Fu Cheng explained frustratedly.

Liang Jiajia helped Song Guanchao, who was holding his stomach, sit on the iron chair, then slowly looked at him and pointed at the surveillance camera in the corner, asking, "If you didn’t lay a hand on him, why did you turn off the surveillance?"

"I..." Fu Cheng was at a loss for words, and finally, gritting his teeth, he said, "I heard he cursed at you, and I wanted to teach him a lesson."

"Fu Cheng, my matters don’t need your intervention."

Liang Jiajia furrowed her brow and pointed toward the door, "This is my case, get out!"

"Fu Cheng, I warn you, don’t approach Song Guanchao again. I will report today’s incident to Chief Qi, you wait for your punishment!"

Fu Cheng, unable to contain his anger, knew he couldn’t explain himself in this situation.

He glared ominously at Song Guanchao and said, "Song Guanchao, right? I’ll remember you!"

"Get out!" Liang Jiajia cursed as Fu Cheng, a police officer, dared to threaten a suspect in the interrogation room.

Liang Jiajia, who always pursued procedural justice, despised people like him the most.

Fu Cheng didn’t say another word and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.

"Jiajia," the veteran police officer sighed, "Xiao Fu cares about you too. Let’s not mention this to Chief Qi and save him some face."

"He beat up a person involved in the case. To put it mildly, it’s a violation of regulations; to put it severely, it’s illegal! I will definitely tell Chief Qi about this, Uncle Liu, don’t defend him."

Liang Jiajia sat down, her face expressionless.

Officer Liu sighed, feeling somewhat helpless.

"Are you alright?" Liang Jiajia asked.

Song Guanchao shook his head and said, "Officer Liang, see, was I wrong in calling you a ’connection hire’?"

Liang Jiajia’s eyebrows furrowed again, "Song Guanchao, what do you mean?"

Song Guanchao replied, "If you did not have a father who is a bureau chief, do you think that officer would have risked being disciplined for breaking regulations just to defend you because I called you a ’connection hire’?"

Liang Jiajia opened her mouth but found herself unable to refute.

Officer Liu said, "Song Guanchao, don’t bring up things unrelated to this case. What you need to do now is confess the facts of your crime."

"I was framed." Song Guanchao spread his hands, repeating this single sentence over and over.

Officer Liu rubbed his temples and glanced at the time, "Jiajia, let’s go, we will continue this tomorrow."

Liang Jiajia shook her head, "Uncle Liu, you go ahead, I will stay here tonight."

"Jiajia, there’s no need to drag this out with him..."

"I’m not dragging this out with him; I’m worried about Fu Cheng retaliating against him."

"...Then stay here, rest if you get tired."

After Officer Liu left, Liang Jiajia finally asked, "Do you feel unwell anywhere?"

"Thank you for your concern, Officer Liang, I’m perfectly healthy."

Song Guanchao had a good impression of her, and she was also quite attractive.

He was interestedly admiring her graceful figure; the police uniform seemed a bit small, fitting very tightly on her body.

Liang Jiajia felt very uncomfortable under his gaze and glared at him fiercely.

She thought he would restrain himself, but instead, his behavior became even more excessive.

His invasive stare seemed as if he wanted to strip off her clothes.

Liang Jiajia, slightly annoyed, said, "Where are your dog eyes looking?"

"Everyone appreciates beauty, officer. I was just looking; that’s not illegal, right?"

Liang Jiajia really wanted to leave immediately, but thinking that Fu Cheng might come and do something, she held back.

As it was nearing midnight, Liang Jiajia was so sleepy she could hardly keep her eyes open and was almost falling asleep in her chair.

"Officer Liang," Song Guanchao suddenly spoke.

"What?" Liang Jiajia’s eyes were half-open, her voice tired.

Liang Jiajia suddenly became alert and quickly rubbed her eyelids, "What did you say?"

Song Guanchao didn’t respond but instead turned his head to look at the corner where the surveillance camera was.

Liang Jiajia immediately understood but hesitated.

In principle, the surveillance in the interrogation room should not be turned off.

After hesitating for a moment, she still went and turned off the surveillance.

Returning to the interrogation table, she asked, "What do you want to say?"

Song Guanchao said, "I have evidence that can prove I was framed."
