Hearing the woman's words, Sir Yang hastily paid his respects again and then, with small, quick steps, swiftly left the spot.
Meanwhile, Fang Ze, who was lying on his shoulder, thoughtfully glanced at the woman who had just brushed past him.
A moment later, his mind stirred.
His ethereal body split once more, creating a third Clone which promptly sat down upon the woman's shoulder...
Possibly controlling three Clones and an original body at once, Fang Ze felt as if his head was about to split open.
He quickly severed the connection with the first and second Transparent Followers, then focused all his attention on the third Clone, which alleviated much of his agony.
After focusing his attention on the third Transparent Follower, Fang Ze also began to quietly listen in on the conversation between the petite woman and the man.
The man said, "That old fart! Always relying on his age, flaunting that he's one of the faction's elders, that the leader has an impression of him, he's always bringing up the leader to make his point."
He glanced back, carefully eyeing the old man's retreating figure with a venomous expression, "Once I catch him out, I'll definitely take care of him properly!"
Upon hearing the man's words, the woman's face darkened as she said, "Alright. He did join the faction very early on. So early that even the leader can't recall exactly when he joined. Thus, the leader is willing to give him some face, to prove his own sense of nostalgia and win over hearts."
"So, we can't really do anything to him. A few warnings will suffice."
As she said this, she grabbed the man's buttocks, and amid his yelp of surprise, she let out a chuckle and said, "However, next time, if you discover anything off about him, come directly to me."
"I'll take care of him."
"Although we can't kill him, it's still possible to make him suffer a bit."
Hearing the petite woman's words, the man quickly agreed with a laugh.
And so, the two of them chatted and slowly made their way to the garden.
Upon reaching the periphery of the garden, filled with bunches of flowers, the man dared not proceed further, so he stopped.
The petite woman, however, seemed to have some sort of backup and didn't halt.
She said to the man, "Wait for me here," then she alone walked through the patch of flowers, entering the inner part of the garden.
All this time, Fang Ze sat on her shoulder, meticulously noting down all the details of her entrance into the garden.
And so, they arrived at the central area of the garden.
The short woman didn't head straight for the Temple but first stood still, reciting something under her breath.
Fang Ze leaned closer to her lips, carefully listening, and felt... it seemed like some kind of laudatory prayer.
After she finished reciting the prayer, the woman didn't rush towards the Temple.
She carefully performed several gestures that resembled worship, then stared at a flower to the east for two seconds. Upon confirming there was no issue, she braved her way towards the Temple.
Meanwhile, Fang Ze memorized the prayer and gestures she had performed, following behind her towards the Temple.
As they came closer to the Temple, Fang Ze felt that he could nearly discern all its details. Then, suddenly, he felt a coolness spreading over his Clone.
Immediately thereafter, in the blink of an eye, he lost contact with the Clone!
Simultaneously, Fang Ze's original body aboard the Sky Mother Ship jolted awake, sitting up involuntarily.
Sitting on the bed, Fang Ze was momentarily stupefied.
Then, he came to a realization: The disconnection from the Transparent Follower was most likely because the place had been surrounded with a Law Prohibition to ensure the Temple's safety!
His Awakening Ability had been restricted!
Thinking this, Fang Ze quickly connected to Transparent Follower No. 2, attempting to see through Sir Yang's vision if triggering the Law Prohibition had any consequences.
Fortunately, after waiting a full half hour, there was no commotion or disturbance.
It seemed that although the Law Prohibition was triggered, there were no warning measures.
With this thought in mind, he closed his eyes in contemplation, reconstructing the entire layout of the Flower God's Private Garden in his mind.
The garden's periphery was filled with various flowers, and there was an open space in the center, with the Temple at the center of the clearing.
Based on the distance at which he triggered the Law Prohibition, Fang Ze conjectured... that the Law Prohibition must be situated around 1.2 meters from the Temple.
He pondered for a moment.
The range of the Law Prohibition was 1 meter (Chapter 36).
Yet the designer of this security measure had intentionally left a distance of 1.2 meters, which was clearly a trap.
Fang Ze guessed. The ethereal state of the Transparent Follower did not trigger an alarm, but that did not mean a tangible person would not trigger an alarm.
It was very likely that when someone, with ill intentions towards the Temple, came within 1.2 meters of it, they would trigger the Law Prohibition and alarm and lose their abilities.
At that point, they would have only two choices: to retreat or to advance.
Retreating might lead them straight into the path of hurriedly arriving guards.
Advancing would mean they could regain their strength only by entering within 0.2 meters of the Temple.
However, by then, whatever lay inside the Temple might already have been alerted by the triggered alarm.
At that moment, with the element of surprise on its side and the attacker at a disadvantage, the intruder would still likely meet their demise on the spot.
With this thought, Fang Ze's brow furrowed involuntarily.
This mechanism was ingeniously designed. It not only restricted intruders but also did not impose limitations on the being within the Temple. It was certainly a challenging predicament.
