Hearing Fang Ze's "domineering" remark.
In the room, Lady Jin, who sat elegantly on the couch, and the deputy, who stood opposite the two, both had a look of amused disbelief.
Lady Jin, facing Fang Ze, who sat presumptuously across from her, couldn't help but tease, "What status do you think you have? Some people want to meet you but can't."
Hearing Lady Jin, Fang Ze raised his head and then said, "Do I even need to say what my status is?"
With that, he looked at the deputy and asked, "As a suspect, isn't it true that not just anyone can see me?"
"For example, what if he's my accomplice and we collude in our testimony; what then?"
"For example, what if he's the real murderer and wants to take the opportunity to kill me; what then?"
"Or for example... what if he's a spy, wanting to take the opportunity to extract information about the case, what then?"
Having said this, Fang Ze paused, then added, "Doesn't my point make sense?"
Hearing Fang Ze's words, the deputy glanced oddly at Fang Ze, dressed in the tailored, exquisite clothes specially bought by the Defense Team;
He looked at the various snacks laid out in front of Fang Ze;
He noticed the tea in Fang Ze's hand, expensive just by the smell;
And then looked at Lady Jin, who was visiting Fang Ze's room…
"You're right. You're a closely guarded suspect and shouldn't meet with outsiders casually."
Seeing the deputy agree with him, Fang Ze immediately smiled and said, "That's correct, isn't it!"
"So, I would trouble the deputy to ask him to leave."
Reluctantly, the deputy nodded and then left Fang Ze's room...
Watching the deputy leave Fang Ze's room, Lady Jin curiously turned to Fang Ze and couldn't help but ask, "Do you really not plan to meet Jiang Cheng?"
Fang Ze indifferently said, "Of course. He doesn't deserve it."
Lady Jin snapped, "Speak human."
Fang Ze coughed and then said, "He really doesn't deserve it."
He continued, "I've struggled for so long to sit at this table. How can I let him sit down so easily?"
He paused, his gaze inscrutable, "Or say, even if he were qualified to sit, I wouldn't let him."
"Such a useful 'chip' like him would be wasted as a player."
"With him, I can demand the sky from the Jiang Family. How can I negotiate that with him directly?"
Lady Jin, watching the obscure look in Fang Ze's eyes, seemed somewhat thoughtful.
After a moment, she looked again at the man in front of her.
She suddenly felt... after this incident, the man in front of her seemed to be growing at an astonishing rate.
It felt to her as though she had unleashed a terrifying Ferocious Beast.
For a moment, she didn't know whether what she had done was right or wrong...
The only thing that comforted her was that this Ferocious Beast seemed to be on her side.
So... there shouldn't be a problem, right?
Having left Fang Ze's guest room, the deputy didn't report back to Jiang Cheng immediately but first went to an office located at the central position of the Sky Mother Ship.
From the nameplate hanging on the office, it was evident that this was the Inspector's office.
At the door of the office, the deputy knocked.
Soon, the old man's voice came from inside, "Enter."
The deputy pushed the door open and walked in.
The old man was looking down, processing documents.
Even without looking up, he seemed to sense that it was the deputy who had come in. Thus he immediately asked, "Fang Ze refused to see Jiang Cheng?"
The deputy nodded and said, "Yes."
The deputy paused, slightly puzzled, and said, "He doesn't seem to be manipulating Jiang Cheng; he's serious about it."
Hearing the deputy's words, the old man laughed heartily and then, looking up at the deputy, said, "This kid is not simple."
"He's planning to seriously undercut the Jiang Family!"
The deputy expressed surprise, clearly not quite understanding why the Inspector would say this.
However, the old man simply smiled and shook his head...
To be honest, the developments of the past few days had even taken the old man by surprise.
Originally, the entire matter had been progressing smoothly, and the old man was merely hoping that Fang Ze would surprise him by solving the mystery of this year's Flower Morning Festival before it ended, and resolving his own dilemma.
Who would have thought, within just a few days, this surprise had arrived, and it was quite substantial!
In just over a week, while the Flower Morning Festival was still not halfway through, Fang Ze had cracked the festival's mystery through Bai Zhi, and had grasped the pathway of Faith Ascension in his hands.
This move suddenly put Fang Ze back in control of the whole situation.
With this leverage, Fang Ze could strike or defend at will. He could keep a low profile or take a high profile, virtually placing him in an invincible position.
At this point, it was at most considered a pleasant surprise.
But who knew, once the matter reached the Eastern Administrative Region, it also caught their attention.
Over the years, although many mysteries had been solved, few had been resolved as thoroughly and clearly investigated as this one.
With such sufficient intelligence, coupled with the fact that Flower God was not among the most powerful demigods in Spirit Realm Mountain, the administrative region, after some study, wanted to use the Flower Morning Festival as a pilot project to try and address the crisis of a demigod's advent.
