In a secret land of the Grand Line, on the towering island of Miracles, also known as Merveille, Alucard’s coat and Shiki’s golden hair, almost touching the ground, flapped loudly in the strong wind.
As Shiki walked, his every step created a "thudding" sound, his feet having been replaced by swords.
"These are the fellows I originally planned to unleash on the East Blue, hey! Indigo!" Shiki walked to Alucard’s right and gave a look to his loyal subordinate, Indigo.

Alucard’s gaze swept over the monsters rampaging through the forest below: lizards on the verge of mutating into dragons, turtles running faster than black panthers, a full array of bizarre creatures.
"No need for such trouble. Come down; I’ll give you a demonstration." Alucard grinned, revealing his upper and lower rows of sharp fangs. He hadn’t experimented with the Blacklight Virus in quite a while.
Shiki used his ability to float downwards. The cliff was at least five hundred meters high. Floating in mid-air, Shiki "kindly" offered Alucard, "Need a hand?"
Alucard instantly dispersed into countless bats and flew towards a clearing in the forest below.
Shiki lightly bit his cigar, then let out three "heh" sounds before flying in the same direction.
Dr. Indigo, left behind, stood wide-eyed like a stunned clown for a long time. Then, with his shoes making peculiar "poot-poot" sounds, he found a path and quickly followed.

Alucard said nothing. Suddenly, the forest ahead parted, and a giant, grotesque creature with a kangaroo’s body and a zebra’s head burst out. Behind it was a colossal rhinoceros beetle with giant, razor-sharp horns. The two monsters began to fight in front of Alucard and Shiki.
The two monsters fought intensely, but ultimately, the more agile zebra with the kangaroo body delivered an uppercut that knocked the rhinoceros beetle to the ground. Then, it leaped into the air and landed a flying kick, leaving a deep indentation in the giant rhinoceros beetle’s belly.
Immediately, it sniffed the air, turned its head to the left, and spotted Alucard and Shiki a few hundred meters away. After letting out a strange cry, it sprang up, launching itself directly above the two, seemingly aiming to deliver the same flying kick it used on the rhinoceros beetle.

About five seconds later, layers of bloody tendrils emerged from the rhinoceros beetle, which had been unable to get up. Its originally pitch-black body instantly turned blood-red, and simultaneously, its body continuously swelled. In less than ten seconds, its volume had increased by a full half.
With a flip, the super-giant Blacklight rhinoceros beetle sprang to its feet. Meanwhile, the kangaroo-zebra, which Shiki had sent flying, also crawled up from a nearby small hill. The two once again locked eyes.
