One Piece: Burning the Sun God to Ash Chapter 27

On the warship, after seeing all the pirates flee to the shore, the adjutant's eyes carried a trace of inquiry.

He turned his head to look at Sakazuki.

Sakazuki gave a slight nod. The adjutant waved his hand and gave the order.

"Prepare for close combat!"

The soldiers on the ship responded in unison. This was standard procedure on Sakazuki's ship.

As long as the pirates' escape route was cut off, they were always dealt with through close combat.

Not just for the sake of training, but also for the future of these soldiers.

The pirate captain hiding behind a massive boulder held a sword in his right hand and raised his left. He was just about to swing down and order his crew to open fire and seize the initiative—

As if the approaching Marines had seen through his plan.

A row of Marine soldiers appeared at the railing, raised their rifles, and interrupted him.

Their suppressive fire kept the pirates cowering in cover, too afraid to show their heads. The sound of gunfire rang out endlessly.

"Grab your weapons, you bastards! Once the Marines land—!!!"

The pirate captain, whose plan had been seen through and blocked, shouted in exasperation.

Moments later, as the warship reached the shore, the gunfire ceased.

One by one, Marine soldiers leapt off the deck, long blades in hand, charging toward the pirates.

The pirate captain poked his head out from behind the boulder.

Upon seeing the Marines with long blades leaping from the ship:

"The Marines are here!!!!"

Wielding a broadsword nearly as tall as half a man, he charged forward first.

His subordinates shouted as they rallied their strength:

"Kill all the Marines!"

"Follow the captain!!"

As they madly charged at the Marines with their captain—

On the Marines' side, every soldier was silent, expressionless.

With long blades in hand, they clashed with the pirates and mercilessly cut them down.

The sound of blades piercing flesh rang out again and again.

The clash of metal echoed across the beach, filling the air like a deadly symphony.

In just a short moment—

Nearly half of the pirates had already been killed.

A blade struck the Marine's long sword in front of him, forcing him back.

Seeing nearly half of his men dead or wounded around him—

The pirate captain shouted angrily:

"Fight like your lives depend on it!!!"

"The Marines will never let us go!!!"

As the pirates' morale, once on the verge of collapse, was gradually restored—

A mad glint flickered in their eyes:

"Yeah, the Marines won't spare us."

"Follow the boss!!!!"

Watching the increasingly crazed pirates—

A Marine officer slashed down an incoming pirate, raised his blade, and shouted:

The previously silent Marines fighting on the beach suddenly shouted in unison:

Their voices carried soaring morale.

Under the overwhelming Marine momentum, pirate after pirate was either killed or had their limbs cut off and thrown to the ground.

On the blood-soaked beach, the sounds of killing gradually faded.

"Help me, I don't want to die!!!"

"Please, Marine-sama, spare me!!"

"Waaah! My child hasn't grown up yet! Spare me!"

"I won't ever do it again!!"

Gradually, only the painful wails and cries for mercy remained. Countless pirates sobbed and begged for their lives.

"I haven't even become a great pirate yet!!!"

"I can't die here!!!"

"Get out of my way!!!"

Seeing his men falling one by one, wailing in agony, the pirate captain's heart was slowly overwhelmed by fear.

He could only roar in anger to muster courage, slashing back the Marine soldier in front of him once more.

Suddenly, he noticed something. A gleam of hope flickered in his eyes as he suddenly dashed to the side.

"Bring it to me now!!!!"

His excited voice trembled slightly.

He ran toward a figure on the side of the beach—someone dragging along four small children.

He kicked away a subordinate who had collapsed from the horror on the beach.

He snatched up one of the captured children and held him up.

His right hand held the broadsword to the child's shoulder, a bit unhinged.

"All of you, stop right there!!!!!!"
