Charging directly toward Roger's slash was none other than the Navy's hero, Vice Admiral Garp.
In the blink of an eye, Garp reached the slash, raising both hands and grabbing it with his bare palms.
A muffled explosion erupted the moment Garp's hands met the slash. In the next second, thunder cracked across the sea, and red and black lightning shot outward, striking the ocean surface and stirring waves upon waves.
Garp burst into laughter as he clashed with the slash. After holding it off for several seconds, he lifted both arms and redirected the slash into the sky.
A deep hum echoed as the slash flew upward, and a moment later, the battlefield's clouds split apart under a great force. Within the thick cloud cover, a vast clearing reached toward the heavens. The sky above was revealed to be a deep azure, free from the veil of clouds.
Garp descended slowly. Just before hitting the sea, he kicked off the air and shot back to land safely on the deck.
"Whoa! Vice Admiral Garp!"
"As expected of him, he stopped it!"
As Garp returned, cheers erupted across the Marine fleet.
"Roger the Pirate King and Garp the Hero, both of them, they're on a whole different level."
Aboard the World Government ship, the CP0 agents looked up at the crack in the sky and murmured, "These people... really are beyond comparison."
On the Oro Jackson, Roger's crew didn't seem surprised to see the slash blocked. Rayleigh even joked, "Well, just like you said, not easy to deal with."
"Roger, there's still some distance between us and the Marines. Why not make a run for it now?"
"Fighting Garp will go on forever."
Though Rayleigh's words showed some caution, his tone was relaxed. He leaned on the railing, his posture completely at ease.

The battle had just begun, but the Marines were already starting to falter. At this point, the strongest fighters aboard the Oro Jackson were Roger and First Mate Rayleigh. Kozuki Oden had already returned to Whitebeard's ship and would be taken back to Wano.
The next strongest was [Scopper Gaban]. Though he lacked Conqueror's Haki, his Armament and Observation Haki were exceptionally strong. Average officers couldn't last a single exchange with him.
With twin axes in hand, Gaban rampaged through the Marines, quickly securing the upper hand.
The Roger Pirates may not have more top-tier power than the Navy, but their average strength was higher.
Among Garp and Sengoku's forces, no one could stand against Gaban.
As the Marines were pushed back and Garp and Sengoku couldn't spare themselves to assist, a sharp whistle pierced the air. From the sea came a flaming red figure, wrapped in fire, soaring across hundreds of meters toward Ship 0.
Hearing the sound, Gaban immediately turned toward it. Seeing the fireball closing in, he abandoned his current opponent and raised both axes above his head in defense.
At that moment, the flame arrived.
A red-haired youth holding a sword in both hands brought it down hard on Gaban's axes.
With a thunderous impact, Gaban vanished from the deck. A hole nearly three meters wide opened where he had stood.
"Yoriichi Tsugikuni!"
As the flames faded, Roger saw the boy appear on deck. He quickly deflected Garp's attack and leapt back from the fight. Rayleigh also pulled back and stood at Roger's side.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni was no longer an unknown name. The young Marine who had severed Golden Lion Shiki's arm was now someone powerful enough to threaten Roger and Rayleigh.
