Oops, Mommy Slept With A Tyrant Chapter 137

In the apartment building, Jesse hurriedly closed his laptop, his witty blue eyes flashing around in panic.

The door to the room suddenly opened, causing his heart to almost jump out of his mouth.

However, he calmed down seeing it was just his sister and not Jett Adler.

"Jesse, what are you doing? Don’t you know we’ve been waiting for you in the living room?"

Zade popped in his head as well.

He stared at his brother’s face for a moment before he tilted his head to the side in confusion.

"What is it? Why do you look so pale? Did you come down with a fever?"

He didn’t wait for an answer and turned his head to the side, saying in a raised voice, "Mommy, I think there’s something wrong with Jesse!"

Jesse promptly got on his feet, stuffing his laptop into his school bag the moment he heard Kelsie’s voice.

Keira narrowed her eyes slightly at the laptop being stuffed into his bag, but said nothing.

A few seconds later, Jesse grabbed a few face masks and handed it to his siblings the exact moment Kelsie walked into the room.

She stopped and lowered herself to his level, feeling his temperature with the back of her hand.

"You do look pale, but you’re vitals are fine. I’ll run tests on you before taking you to school."

The boy hurriedly shook his head in refusal.

"I’m fine, mommy. I was just thinking of the test I’ll be taking this morning."

"Since when are you worried about taking a test?" Keira asked in disbelief, taking the words right out of Kelsie’s and Zade’s mouth.

Faced with the curious eyes of his family, Jesse forced out a grin, making up a lie on the spot.

"It’s not about the test. I just don’t like that teacher." Then he turned to Kelsie, "I’m really fine, mommy. And we’re running late. If we stay any longer than this, we’ll all be late."

Kelsie nodded and felt his temperature again, peered into his eyes for a few seconds before straightening up.

"It’s been months since you had your medical check-ups. After school today, I’ll be taking all three of you to the hospital."

Jesse didn’t know when he exhaled in relief.

She’d be taking them to the hospital. What a relief. At least they’d be away from the apartment building for a while.

After school, he’d cause a bit more trouble at that shameless man’s company to keep him in place.

While he thought , Keira lowered her eyes to the face mask in confusion.

"Why do we have to put on a mask?"

"Because it’ll make us look cool." Jesse replied without thinking.

Keira thought for a moment and agreed with him. Putting on masks did make her appear mysterious.

Without her car, Kelsie had no choice, but to call for taxi.

After dropping them off at school, the taxi took her to the hospital.

While she paid a visit to m the patient she operated on yesterday, an official envelope was delivered to her.

Thirty minutes later, she waltzed towards the front desk. As she stopped beside it, the nurse handed her the parcel with a bright smile.

The elderly security who brought it had forgotten what the process server said it was for and the nurse had been too busy to look at the words written on the envelope.

Holly Meadow and some other medical staffs lounging around happened to see this and craned their necks eagerly.

"Is it from your boyfriend?"

"He’s really going out of his way to make you happy."

"I’ve never prayed for two people to get married the way I’ve been praying for you two."

"He’s so old fashioned. Why write her a love letter when you can send it as a text message?"

"This is why you’re still single. Online messaging isn’t that great, pouring your heart out in a letter is the best way to reach a woman’s heart."

"Really? I didn’t know that."

"Of course, you didn’t. Why else do you think you don’t have a love life? It’s the universe protecting women from your unromantic self."

"You don’t have a love life either. Guess I’m not the only one the universe is protecting women from."

"You two, shut up. Dr. Sutton has opened the letter."

Kelsie’s eyes dimmed slightly when she saw the content of the letter and she couldn’t stop herself from sighing tiredly.

Nurse Holly inched closer to her, attempting to peek into the letter when Kelsie crumpled it up, turning to give everyone a stern gaze.

"Don’t you all have work to do?"

Instantly, the group dissolved, murmuring and glancing behind them as they left.

"That was too sudden. Did he break up with her?"

"No, he wouldn’t. That man is too smittened by her to do a thing like that."

"Then what’s the problem? Oh my. She scares me so much when she gets serious."

Kelsie suddenly sighed again, resting her elbow on the desk and supporting her head with her palm.

Beside her, Holly pressed her lips into a thin line. Despite being curious, she had come to know it was best to give Kelsie space whenever she was .

But as she turned around to leave, she suddenly recalled the reason she came in the first place. fre ewebno(v)e\l.(c)om

"Pardon me, Dr. Sutton, but I’ve always wanted to ask, why does your boyfriend wear a hat or cap whenever he comes visiting?"

"Everyone else seems to know what he looks like except me. For some reason, it seems like he only covers his face whenever I’m around."

"It’s not supposed to, but how he’s been treating me is making me sad. Even if he doesn’t look so..." She suddenly trailed off when she raised her head again to see the person she was talking to was no longer there.

Spurning around to see if she could find her walking away, she blinked in disbelief when she didn’t, "Dr. Sutton? Where did she go? When did she leave?"

Biting down on her lower lip, she turned to glower at the nurses behind the desk.

"Why didn’t you tell me when she was leaving? I must’ve looked crazy mumbling to myself all these while. Come on!"

Then she stomped away in righteous indignation.

Meanwhile, Kelsie was on her way to the magistrate court.

She walked into the courtroom to find a room full of corporate lawyers, a familiar face with a scowl on it seated in their midst, hands crossed across his chest.
