For this reason, the homebody witch has always been quite good at transformation magic. She truly has a gift for it. Although she's a Genius Witch who has mastered all Nine Major Factions, if forced to choose one she is most adept at, it would be transformation magic.
This is not just because of her inherited family talent but also because, in Dorothy's eyes, transformation magic is the most liberating form of magic, epitomizing the idea of freedom and belief that the heart is where your magic lies.
As long as you dare to imagine, your transformation magic can be as fluid as you desire. It's the most idealistic of all magic schools.
Nine-Ring Magic, the Witch's Seventy-two Transformations is one of the few spells in the Witch of the Forest series to receive mixed reviews.
The criticism isn't due to lack of utility but because it's simply too hard to grasp—similar to the aforementioned Witch's Coin Game spell. Although it's been released, very few have managed to master it.
But for Dorothy herself, this spell from the Nine-Ring Magic encompasses all her understanding of the Transformation School. It's an All-Purpose Transformation Spell that allows you to become anything you can imagine, provided you hold the right medium in your hand.
Holding a feather, you could become a bird; with a fish scale as a medium, you could become a fish.
Although the final effect of the spell might not be as potent as those specialized in a single transformation, this versatile spell truly allows for free and whimsical shape-shifting.
This spell is also one of Dorothy's self-invented favorites, a genuine portrayal of her joyful magic.
Alas, without a deep understanding of transformation magic, it is nearly impossible for witches to learn it, which explains the fair amount of negative feedback beneath the spell.
