"Senior sister, did you have a fight with the president?"
Half an hour later, at the Witch's Home residence, Dorothy was preparing the equipment for her outing today, while Audrey sneaked up to her and quietly asked in a hushed voice.
Upon hearing this, Dorothy also helplessly lifted her head and glanced at Sophia, who was not too far away.
As they had agreed to test the warship and spar today, the Pure White Witch unusually took the day off from the student council work.
Of course, she didn't actually take leave, but instead sent an avatar to fill in for her, because as Witch's Night was drawing closer, the student council really couldn't do without her, the president.
However, a common avatar was never as convenient as an incarnation that had its own thoughts and consciousness, which could function on its own without instructions from the original, unlike a stiff avatar that was more like a puppet and required the original's attention for control.
Therefore, Sophia was currently sitting on a swing chair not too far away with her eyes closed.
It was clear that her consciousness was currently dealing with student council affairs through her avatar at the council.
This couldn't help but make the Homebody Witch shake her head gloomily at the thought of how tiring being a leader was, look at how busy one is, not even getting a break for a holiday.
But there was no helping it, for although she was just the Student Council President, considering the scale of Witch Academy, the role was hardly less stressful than that of an Emperor of a vast Empire; who knows how much public business awaited Sophia's attention each day.
In any case, just thinking about such pressure made Dorothy's head spin. She, a lazy homebody, probably wasn't cut out for leadership.
However, perhaps sensing the Homebody Witch's gaze, on the giant ancient tree's vine swing chair, the Pure White Witch's eyelids fluttered slightly, and then she opened her golden, shimmering eyes.
But looking at Sophia's eyes, which were cool and still carried lingering anger, Dorothy quickly felt guilty and lowered her head again.
"We didn't fight, no, little sister, don't talk nonsense. How could we have fought? As if she would dare to argue with me, that would be utterly rebellious."
The Homebody Witch deadpanned to her gossip-eager Little Fox.
"Senior sister, you're lying. Even I can tell something is off between you and the president today."
Audrey was clearly disbelieving, and even someone as socially anxious as her could detect a problem, she was sure it was serious.
"Audrey, you can't just make wild accusations, everyone knows I, your senior sister, never lie. Tell me what you think is the problem."
Dorothy glared at her chatty junior sister, trying to intimidate her with her senior sister's authority.
Unfortunately for her, she didn't have an ounce of senior sister's authority, and furthermore, Audrey was a half-Demon Witch, able to sense Original Sin, she saw no trace of the sin of anger on her senior sister, so she immediately saw through the bluff.
"Today, the president didn't even help you pack, even though she always serves you attentively despite complaining about you. Normally, she would be helping you pack by now, but today she's actually ignoring you. This must be a serious issue."
The Fox Doll on top of Audrey's head wagged its tail as she said this.
These words made Dorothy's eyes widen with disbelief as she looked at her younger sister.
Wow, you're so astute about human nature; you're definitely not the shy sister I know. Confess, who are you and why are you impersonating her?
"Senior sister, what kind of expression is that? I'm just scared of interacting with strangers. I'm not stupid. I am a Nine-tailed Fox Witch, naturally adept at manipulating people's hearts, a bad woman at that."
The Little Fox was somewhat taken aback by her own senior sister's look, blushing with her tail bristling as she manipulated the Fox Doll to say.
"Ah, right, right, right, the bad woman who can't speak in front of strangers. With you like that, I could trick you thirteen times over dinner. Go away; don't bother me. Today is a rare day out, and I need to prepare the supplies."
Pushing away the troublesome Little Fox, Dorothy said irritably.
Although Witch Academy was not small, occupying an area as large as a normal empire, the distance felt manageable when flying around on a broom every day, since an average witch's flight speed was around Mach 1 in civil, non-speeding flight, taking about two to three hours from one end of the academy to the other.
But if you were to test a warship's performance, that space was too cramped, so today everyone decided to fly a bit further, leaving Witch Academy to visit another Witch Territory nearby, and then return.
Even though it was a day trip, the Homebody Witch wasn't planning on slacking off. She was accustomed to being well-prepared, so she had packed everything from clothes to food to any potential weapons and equipment needed, after all, it was better to be safe than sorry.
Yep, she was pretty busy right now and had no time to deal with this gossiping sister, definitely not because she was getting asked tough questions or was impatient, certainly not, she had real work to do.
This left the Little Fox seething.
My senior sister is too bad, glared at with those eyes.
Audrey clenched her small fists, resolved that during the sparring later, she wouldn't hold back against her senior sister, ready for an uprising.
"Little fairy, really, there's nothing wrong?"
