She had to admit, that act of Dorothy's was truly top-notch,—she gave it full marks.
What's more ridiculous was that even though she clearly knew Dorothy was just showing off, she somehow started to believe it a little. The heart that had been so anxious just moments ago was now filled with a sense of security, as if everything would not be a problem as long as Dorothy actually took action.
Tsk, talk about absurdity.
Her reason was loudly telling her not to take Dorothy's words seriously, that she was just pretending to be impressive, and that she might not really be able to solve the problem. After all, that was the signature move of the Lord of Glory; even the God King Teacher would need to spend time and effort to break it. It was definitely not something a little witch like Dorothy who had yet to grow up could handle.
But even though reason was reason, her emotions were simultaneously telling her that reason was spouting nonsense. Could our Dorothy really be measured by ordinary standards? Hadn't she done plenty of unexpected things before? She even flirted with the Three Kings Teacher and dared to do that kind of thing to the Demon King Teacher....
emmmm...Stop, stop, for all we know the Demon King Teacher might be peeping right now. Some things are better left unthought—as those who know too much often don't end well.
Although as the Future Fourth King, all three current kings are Senior Fanny's teachers, the Divine King and Dragon King are at most guest lecturers, while the Devil King is her real class advisor, or rather, her revered master.
After all, it's traditional for a Former King to lead a New King, just like the Divine King led the Dragon King, who in turn led the Devil King.
Among the three, the Divine King is the closest to Omniscient and Omnipotent, the Dragon King the closest to Omnipotence and the Devil King closest to Omniscience.
At the thought of her own Devil King Teacher's nearly omniscient authority that caught one off guard, Senior Fanny shivered and dared not think any further.
On the other side, after Dorothy had finished showing off, she had been looking forward to Senior Fanny's ridicule, but after waiting for quite a while, all she saw was Hat Senior Sister fall into a mysterious silence. This took the enjoyment out of her roasted meat.
What's going on? Has today's Merry Maker changed her tune? Normally, she would be the first to start mocking.
"Ahem, senior, why aren't you speaking? Say something."
The Homebody Witch spoke up, unaccustomed to the silence.
"Say what, you just said you'd take action. With you, Dorothy, here, I suddenly feel relieved," Senior Fanny replied, having collected her emotions, but perhaps a bit too forcefully, as she was speaking with an unusually serious demeanor.
This isn't good, the Hat Senior Sister must have really broken down.
"Actually, I'm not entirely certain either. I've just come up with an idea for the moment," the Homebody Witch said somewhat sheepishly, initiating an explanation.
Her words weren't a blind guess; she really did have a clue.
After all, defying Fate wasn't just a day or two's whimsy for her.
As for the Doomsday Horn that Senior Fanny mentioned, which can determine Fate and solidify the world's destiny as an end, making the advent of doomsday unstoppable and indisputable...
At first glance, it sounded terrifying, but Dorothy thought it over and soon caught the gist.
emmmm....Is that ability really that frightening and rare? After all...
This ability was something she herself also likely, probably, maybe, sort of had.
Like her sometimes on, sometimes off, Inspiration Divination.
Her prophecies were absolutely accurate, and the future scenes she foretold were equally destined to happen, no matter how one struggled against them, they were in vain.
They say the future is full of infinite possibilities, much like Schrödinger's cat in a quantum state—before being observed, no one knows whether the cat is dead or alive.
The same with the future; before it actually arrives, no one knows what will happen. A person might step outside the next second and get run over by a dump truck and turn into a witch, or just wake up and run off to be a chef in the Eleventh District, or maybe play a game as usual and end up sent into a fairy tale by some annoying online friend to become a down-and-out Prince....
The future is this wonderful, full of endless possibilities.
However, Dorothy's prophecies were a bit special because she seemed to be the observer. Once a certain future Fate strand was observed by her, that future became fixed.
The myriad of Fate strands containing countless possibilities, but now the world line converges, and all processes will point to the same outcome.
Just like if she saw a certain Mr. Bai would travel through time, then no matter if Mr. Bai chose to sleep, go out, or play games, it would all be useless, because he had to travel through time whether he wanted to or not.
Yet, the Homebody Witch likewise found that this so-called Fate-determining ability only targeted a specific point, and as long as that converging point was passed, from that point on, future possibilities restored and the Fate strands began to spread out endlessly once more.
Just like after Mr. Bai travelled through time, he might become a chef, a prince, or even lose a brother and turn into a little witch.
The principle was more or less . Dorothy's research on her ability for Inspiration Prophecy had pretty much concluded the same.
