Luo’er followed Tangmo’s pointed direction.
There sat by the window a stern-looking boy silently reading a book.
He sported light-colored golden hair, apparently a mixed blood of the Otherworld Human Race, giving off an unwelcoming aura.
It was surprising that Tangmo managed to recruit such a person, but considering her relationship with Hu Daoke, Luo’er thought it was not entirely impossible.
“Is there one more?” Luo’er pressed on.
“Just the four of us?”
“Yeah, so what?” Tangmo looked blankly at him and asked.
“Sister Moumou, a team must have at least five members!” Hu Daoke whispered in her ear.
I thought any number would do.” Tangmo responded with a face full of confusion.
Looking at Tangmo’s reaction, Luo’er couldn’t help but sigh in secret.
He knew there was a high probability that Tangmo could not be relied on.
Although she had already been assumed the team captain, he still decided to contribute effort for the upcoming recruitment selection battle.
“How about we search for someone else?
Look if we can find our final team member,” Luo’er suggested.
“Okay, let’s look together!” Tangmo nodded in agreement.
Seeing her full of confidence, Luo’er couldn’t help but worry about the upcoming situations.
Come and join Sister Moumou’s team!”
Tangmo stood on the table shouting energetically while Hu Daoke cautiously held the table.
With a small sigh, Luo’er stole a glance at her.
He could tell that Tangmo wouldn’t be able to recruit anyone this way, but he didn’t want to correct her.
Most of these mixed-race humans clearly showed signs of exclusion towards the mixed blood individuals of other races, which could explain his surprise at Cheng Ziang’s recruitment.
By the afternoon, the teams in the class had pretty much settled.
Since there were no class restrictions to team up, even though they had a full class of twenty-five, their team was still short of one member.
When the three of them gathered after class, Tangmo, clearly devastated, laid her head on the desk and looked sulkily.
“How about I go and check with the teacher responsible for the roster, to see if we missed anyone?” Luo’er volunteered.
“Hmm.” Tangmo didn’t lift her head, only hummed despondently in response.
Luo’er sighed softly and got up to head for the staff room.
Even though he didn’t know the teachers well, at least he knew one reliable person.
“I have nothing to do with the roster, why are you looking for me?” In the staffroom, Wang Xu gulped down a mouthful of water, giving the impression of having just returned from a military training drill.
He spread his hands helplessly at Luo’er’s request.
“I always feel that you are the most reliable one to handle this,” Luo’er bluntly stated his reason.
Just because I’m your elder.” Wang Xu put down his water bottle, sighed, got up, and prepared to get in touch with the teacher maintaining the roster.
Luo’er calmly sat there without making any statement, apparently because he was the one making the request, so he didn’t retort.
Gotta say, Wang Xu’s work efficiency was pretty high.
In a short time, he got a paper copy of the team roster.
He put it in front of Luo’er, saying, “This is the team list.
The last page has the names of those who have not joined or formed a team yet, handle it yourself.”
“Thank you.” Luo’er picked up the list, got up, and bowed slightly as a gesture of appreciation.
“You…” Wang Xu didn’t know what to say, so he just smiled and shook his head.
“Sister Moumou, the roster,” Luo’er approached Tangmo and placed the list in front of her.
Tangmo’s eyes lit up as she glanced at the roster, the gloominess lifting away.
“Luo’er, you’re amazing!” she excitedly proclaimed.
“It’s nothing, I’m just doing what I should do,” Luo’er courteously replied and sat down in front of her.
“By the way,” Luo’er cast a glance towards Cheng Ziang, who was reading by the window, then asked, “Is he not participating in the discussion?”
“Oh, he said we could decide on our own.
Such a strange guy,” Hu Daoke replied, leaning against the desk.
Luo’er couldn’t help but take another look at Cheng Ziang.
Clad in a school uniform with golden hair, he was clearly of Aud’s Otherworld lineage.
However, he was not seen interacting with anybody and emitted a mysterious aura.
Luo’er wondered how Tangmo managed to recruit him.
Seeming to sense Luo’er’s gaze, Cheng Ziang slightly turned his head and gave him a cold glance.
His eyes were full of scorn for them – or perhaps, disdain for the common man.
“Why are they all males?
Oh, there’s a girl, Baiyue…” Tangmo read aloud the name, hugging the list.
“Sister Moumou, this Baiyue is from Class Three.
They say she is a known oddball, shall we pick someone else?” Hu Daoke whispered in Tangmo’s ear.
“No, I don’t want a bunch of husky men in my team, it seems as if all the girls have been picked.” Tangmo frowned.
“I don’t think she would like to join us.” Hu Daoke expressed his doubt.
“Really, is she that strange?” Tangmo slapped the list on the table, turned around, and questioned.
“Yeah, really strange, even weirder than Cheng Ziang.” Hu Daoke nodded, answering with a serious expression.
